3rd POV

Asami stood on the balcony as shocked as hell. Subaru stared at her pale skin shining in the moonlight.

"Wait what?!" Asami screeched loudly enough that she thought the others heard her.

Subaru nodded slowly. He but his lip and avoided to meet her eyes. Asami's heart beat faster every minute. She had a questioning look on her face.

Just then, she laughed really hard. Asami held her sides. Subaru had a mixed expression on his face. Asami was still laughing. When she was done, she said, "Wow, good one, Subaru."

"I'm serious," he stated in a flat tone.

Asami's smile faltered. So many thoughts were going through her head right now. The red head proceeded to laugh again.
"I don't like Shu or Reiji. At least, not anymore. They were both jerks back there. They're also really protective. Shu doesn't even try and Reiji tries too hard. It's just-oomf!"

"Oomf?" Subaru cracked a smirk on his face.

"You know what I mean! I'm just done with them!" Asami replied.

They both smiled at each other as if ten years worth of happiness had come at once. Subaru frowned.

"We can't. You kill vampires. I'm a vampire. Then, there's the dagger. It could kill me and-"

Asami put her finger over the white haired vampire and shushed him.

"Then, can we just lay here?" She said softly.

She put her head on his chest. He put his arm around her back. They stayed there and cuddled. They were quiet for the moment.

Subaru broke the silence, "I'm so sorry, Asami. I really have to go. I can't stay here. I can't stay here with my brothers anymore. Besides, Reiji was right. I don't belong here. I don't even know what I'm doing here. This place is a dead end. I want to go travel. I want to go places. I didn't want to be stuck here like my mom."

Asami closed her eyes and opened them back up.
"I-I understand. I'll wait here for you...forever. Or I can come with you!"

Asami's eyes light up like fireworks. Subaru smiled sadly.
"You can't. Please, stay here."

"Why not?" Asami questioned, eyes almost brimmed with tears.

"Because I love you, Asami. I can't stay here, and you can't go out there. My father said not to let you go. Asami, you have an important role here, but I'm not in it. If my father wanted you here for a reason, you have to stay here."

She almost burst. She didn't care what his father thought. Subaru held her hands and stared into her blue orbs. He massaged her palms softly.
"Please," with one word, Subaru calmed down Asami.

"Why is it that I seemed to have fall in love with you? To me, your perfect in every way. It will always be you," she gently spoke.

He scoffed as if it was a joke.
"I know it's not true. I'm not perfect. We're merely just imperfect."

"Not to me, you aren't."

He stood up. The vampire smiled and took his hand out to her.

"I hope I'm able to find you again, but for now, I'll love. I'll choose love."
She smiled bashfully.

"You should, you dope."

Then, the ginger punched him in the arm playfully.

"I'd never thought that I'd fall in love until I met you."

"Me neither."

They smiled as if they were dreaming.
He moved closer to her. She moved even closer, so that her head was on his chest.

"The moonlight is beautiful, but not as beautiful as you."

Her lips curled even more into a smile.
"Can I ask for just one last kiss?"

He turned to her.
"Do you even have to ask?"

They smiled, and so, their first and last gentle kiss was given. Their lips moved in synch. It seemed like years until they let go of the kiss. Subaru looked deeply into her eyes. Although they broke the kiss, their noses were touching. Both were breathing heavily.

"I have to go."

"Just wait a few more days. Promise me you'll wait."

"I can't." With that, Subaru walked away, leaving Asami on the balcony. And, a tear escaped from her eye. Then, it was followed by many. Soon, she was sobbing on the balcony.
