|Chapter 10|
I stood in the mirror, looking at my blue dress with hard eyes.
"Drew," I called out and motioned for him to come to the mirror. He checked himself out before noticing my face.
"What's wrong?"
"Does this dress look okay?" I tilted my head to the side and examined it from a new angle.
"You look fine," he shrugged.
"Just fine?" I repeated. He frowned.
"Is this a trick question?"
I groaned and wiped a hand down my face. This is why I need female friends. Friends who actually care about my appearance. Drew and Carson could care less about what I put on my body. Ross had said there was no need for me to change but he looked at the dress for so long that I felt a little incomplete now.
The only girl I knew besides Holly that would tell me straight up was Isabella and we weren't currently speaking at the moment. Just the thought of her made me feel guilty, angry, and sad all at the same time so I tried not to dwell on it any longer.
I trudged downstairs to where Carson and Ross were silently drinking beer together on the couch. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a familiar face and actually got a little excited at another girl being here.
"Simone," I smiled. She looked up and looked taken aback by my actually being cordial with her. She may be friends with the enemy, but right now I needed her help. "Does this dress look okay?'
She only lifted a brow and Carson looked between the two of us while Ross looked bored with the situation. For a split second I felt bad about inviting him here.
"You look fine," Carson answered for her after a moment of silence.
"You'd think that," Ross joked. Carson and I glared at him while Simone looked confused with the situation.
"Are you still obsessing over your clothes?" Drew asked, walking in. I turned back to Simone to see she had on cute jeans and a sparkly halter top that was cropped. She paired it with tall black heels and I looked down, noticing I wasn't wearing any heels.
"I need to go home and change," I insisted.
"Go up to my sister's room," Drew started pushing me towards the stairs. "Pick out anything you want, I promise you she won't mind."
"I'll go with you," Simone offers, finally speaking. I looked back at Carson as we ascended and he gave me an encouraging smile. I know he wants us to bond, but I'll never fully like the girl.
Simone was ransacking the closet while I sat on the bed patiently.
"Drew's sister seems a bit tall than you," she sized me up with her eyes. "So let's go with a mini skirt."
She threw a mini skirt at me that had zippers on the side and was suede. It was beige and before I knew it she also threw a thin black turtleneck at me.
"Hurry," she motioned for me to change and I quickly did. She pulled out a mirror from the close to let me see myself and my eyes widened at my appearance.
"Simone?" I questioned. She was back digging in the closet and threw out some black heels.
"See if those fit," she said. I tried on the strapped heels and nodded in approval of the fit. "Now come stand up."
I did as I was told and was stilled shocked at how I looked.
"Are you sure?" I questioned again, unsure of myself. "I mean this is a little..."
