CHAPTER 10

Zoey’s P.O.V

Rain, its such  a beautiful emotion. Waking up watching the rain along with a cup of coffee is just the perfect start of another new day, a new sun, new adventures, new emotions and new challenges.. it’s been a very long time I haven’t enjoyed the rain like this.. The rain has always played a vital role in my life..

I have heard from my mother that I was born on a rainy day, the first time I went to school was also on a rainy day, the first day of my freshman year was also a rainy day, the day Christopher and I met was also a rainy day and the day he asked me out to be his girlfriend was also a rainy day..

I still remember how I would walk home barefoot on rainy days back in high school and Christopher despite of not being fond of rain would accompany me home. I still remember how heavily it was raining the day Christopher proposed to me for marriage. After he left without listening to me it was the rain that helped me overcome my grief. The first time I came to New York it was also raining. The day I lost my father, it was raining too.

Rain has always either brought too many happiness or too many sadness in my life. And I hope this time it brings happiness and joy only. Even though I know there are possibilities of this day going bad as I have to face Christopher and Haley and, I have to go to my rival’s fashion show..

Just when I got completely drowned in the feeling of the rain, the biggest enemy of my life started ringing out loud. I check the caller id and Its Alex.

“Oh my God! Alex, I don’t believe you called me. How come you are free now?” I said sarcastically.

“I know right? I was wondering how I always have time for you?” he began. “You know waking up to your voice and this beautiful rain is exactly how I dream of my life?”

“Oh shut up Aly!” I told him.

“Aly? Ewww gross! Change that.”

“Nope, never Aly, it’s such a cute name and its perfect for you. Aly.” I teased.

“So you’re enjoying the rain too?” he asked, he knows how much I love when it rains.

“Yes, of course, it’s my best friend forever and I unlike others don’t abandon or forget it even when I am busy..” I taunted

“Zo, I am very sorry. I promise I’ll make it up to you today itself. And I was helplessly busy with the men’s fashion week thingy my sister has organized and she wants me to get her a celebrity as her showstopper.” He said.

“its okay Aly, I know you are a busy man, I know you are even busier than the president of US.” I teased again

“Correction I am the president of US. So do you have any plans for today? Or would you like to hang out with the president of US?” he asked..

“ Your highness! I have to get to Sasha Hawkins’s show today, Haley is taking me. But after that I’ll be wherever they take me to.” I informed.

“Them as in Christopher will be there too?” he asked

That’s when it clicked me, Christopher might be there after the show as well.

“Umm, I guess he will be.”

“Ahhh! Perfect I’ll meet you guys after the show then.” He said.

“Sounds fun. Yeah OK see you then?” I confirmed.

“Okay then beautiful see you!!”

“Okay  then Aly. Bye.”
