Nikki woke up.
"Sin,"she murmured against the morning breeze on the field.
Shelooked left and right but no one is with her, but a note.
Themotorcycle is still there with it's light's still on.
"Where did you go?" She concieved.
Nikki slowly springed out and headed to the motorcycle with her teary eyes as she read a note:
"By the time you're reading this I'm already heading back home. Someone is waiting me there... my family, which happened to be your's too. You may or may not understand this time, but, sooner or later, you'll see.
When that time comes, you'll see me again, young and alive, living inside a warm body who's heart is still beating and mind still full of love and imaginations." -Sin
She immediately drove the bike with nowhere to run. Pumping the gas, speeding up her heart beat while teardrops brimming her track, leaving the grasses moistened by dews and pain.
Suddenly an earthquake hit the ground that made her stumble to the ground. Nikki knew something is not right. Typically animals show signs of danger before it happens, this time, its not, even animals were surprised.
"Sin," Nikki undertoned.
With her islander skills she followed the epicenter of the quake hoping it was Sin. She sounds crazy inside her head thinking 'are time travelers real?' baffling the idea of 'he's just an ordinary man who's just wooing her.' Everything inside her mind didn't bothered her and contended every mountain obstacles. Whatever happens she'll find him.
"Why do this man gave me curiousity that even upto the end I will follow him? We have just met but something is telling me that we already knew each other for so long."
By afar she noticed a small barrack with burnt firewoods. Her heart jumped, expecting something unexpected. She slowed her pace as she came near by the barrack. Her heart cried as she saw a cigarette butt near the door.
"Sin," she quietly called out while knocking on the metal door.
"I do now believe in metaphysics of love," a man's voice was heared behind the door.
Nikki pulled out the knob and surprised on what she saw, a single bed, table full of papers and empty medicine cases and a weird machine that almost fit in the barrack, and Sin sitting on the floor wearing a filthy white coat and some noticable blood oozing out ofhis mouth. "Oh my God, what happened to you Sin," she said in shock and so she tried to carry him on her lap.
"I stopped the machine... I heard your voice."
Sin stared deep to Nikki's eyes. Without laying a single word they kissed each other tasting the warm rust of the fresh blood. Pale lips painted red and the dry became flooded.
He held her face that left the chrimson mark of his hand to her cheek. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine. I exist in all times."
"What are you planning to do now?"
Sin pointed a box near him, "I must bring this to save someone."
"Why you didn't kill me to save her?"
Sin just smiled on her and coughed blood. Tears flowed on the eyes of the man who doesn't know the word death and no fear in time. Nikki watched him weep so hard. She can't help herself the way she sees the professor, she too bursted in tears.
"You don't need to answer. I may not understand everything right now, give me time," she held back his face.
Sin helped himself to stand to fit himself to the machine's chamber."If I were you, I won't follow my steps. Make your own adventure, aj ourney, an incredible diary through your lifetime. Mine is a mess to be seen. This is the last travel my body can."
Nikki tried to wipe her infinite tears as she pick up the box, "go save your wife," she handed the box.
For the last time she gave him her goodbye kiss with their both hands touching the box.
Sin reset back the switches and buttons, and placed a unique phone on a hollowed part labeled 'witness well'.
He held her hand and let it slipped as he close himself into the machine without breaking their eye communication.
Seconds later Nikki watched the machine's spaces glow. She placed her hand on the hot metal door and prayed, "take care Sin. See you someday."
The ground started to shake and the door became hotter. She backed off two steps away and watched carefully.
At the most intense magnitude of earthquake the machine's door suddenly opened.
Sin is glowing brightly and calls out Nikki.
Both of them stepped a little just to touch each other's fingertips hoping to extend and slow time.
Spaced fingers played each other as he starts to fade.
"Tell me your name," the red haired islander requested.
With his weak voice he efforted to splurt his last words, "they call me.. Aves," and the traveler pulled the islander and leisurely kissed her with passion until atom by atom the universe drawed and took the man from her.
When he's gone the machine's door shutted by the suction's pressure.
Now she's alone... what only left was the warmth of his blood on her lips.
