Surprise tears (Alfie's POV (continued))

As I stood in front of the doctor, only thing in my mind was please let her be okay. Please let my princess be okay.

The first thing that the doctor asked after we entered his cabin was "who is the father?"

WHAT ON EARTH did he mean by that?

Joe said that he was Zoe's brother and that their father was out of town. The doctor suddenly started laughing. He said that he meant the baby's father not Zoe's.

Seeing the dumb struck look in our faces, he asked who Zoe's husband or boyfriend was. When I said it was me, he asked me to come with him to Zoe's room and asked joe to wait outside. As I entered the room my heart stopped beating again. How could someone look soo good in a pink baby clad gown and a smile on their face? No makeup no nothing just a smile.

Although my total attention was on Zoe , on the back of my mind the realization hit. The pink, baby gown and the doctor asking about the father. Anyone could connect the dots.

As if to confirm my thought, the doctor said congratulation Mr Deyes you're having triplets. Looks like Zoe already told them who I was. Zoe was pregnant? I was gonna be a father? My heart just clenched at the thought of holding a child. MY child, oops children 😜

I could see it in her face now, she was scared but so happy. Her ear to ear smile proved that as a tear rolled down my face. I was gonna be a dad!!

I cannot express how happy I was. Can't tell how long I have been waiting for this moment. It had always been my dream to be dad. And now it was gonna come true.

I walked upto her a gave her a soft kiss on the lips. She looked at me asked " are you okay?"

And I replied saying more then ever and placed a hand on her tummy. I guess this was all she needed to hear because the scared look vanished from her eyes.

Just then the nurse came in with an ultrasound and asked if I wanted to say. Of course I wanted to stay. And they then put the device on her tummy and for the first time I saw my babies. MINE

I can't say how proud I was.

They said I could take her home today. I was soo excited to start a new life. To start being more than a boyfriend. I was ready to start being a father.
