I saw Alfie and Zoe walk out of the room, his arms wrapped around Zoe in a protective manner.
They looked like the perfect couples you see in movies, like they were meant to be. And after all these years I think they are but at the back of my mind, I knew I was jealous. I felt something but couldn't label what it actually was. This the kind of relationship I had always wanted. Maybe even with the sa....................

They walked up to us smiling ear to ear. I pushed everyone aside everyone and ran up to them to give Zoe a hug. "Are you ok?" I pulled back and asked her. She nodded then snuggled more into Alfie's side
That is when I cringed and moved away. They said that they had something to show us and as was the nearest to them, she handed me a picture.

I stared at it for a very long time, but to me it was just scribbles, it was not making any sense. That is when Louise stepped forward to take the picture away. The moment she saw it, she squealed like a kid.
She started jumping up and down and ran to give Alfie and Zoe a big cuddly hug. That is when Tanya picked up the picture that Louise had dropped in her excitement and started smiling like #zalfie were a minute ago. That is when I had , had enough. Me and Jim both baffled asked at the same time what it was, and instead of Tanya, Zoe answered.

"I AM PREGNANT" Zoe said her smile almost took my breath away like it had the first time I saw her. Alfie then bent down, kissed her tummy and said " WE ARE PREGNANT" He had to do that! Didn't he?He had to be all cute.

I could feel the tears starting to form in the corner of my eyes. I sniffed them back. Didn't need anyone seeing me like this. This was the confirmation of what I had been feeling since I met Zoe.
I LOVED HER. Yup. I did. But I couldn't have her. Not when she was in love with my best mate and was pregnant with his baby.

And the feeling that I felt whenever I saw them together, I knew what it was now. It was HEARTBREAK. Total shattering of your heart to see the person you love, love someone else. And knowing that you can never have them.

Side note: if you didn't notice, it says baby instead of babies because he doesn't know it's triplets yet. 😜
