All four of us made it to the school and started running up the stairs, but Malia suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong?" I asked
"Did you catch a scent?" Scott asked after me.
"It's the same one. The same one from Mexico." Malia said panting.
I looked at Scott nervously before intertwining my hand with Malia's.
"What is she talking about?" Peter asks
"One of them came after us in the Church ruins." Scott explained
Malia was looking around, trying to find where the scent was coming from, "And on the road." She added
"They couldn't have followed us here." I said
"They could've been brought," Scott said looking at me. "Be Kate."
There was a deep growling noise and we all looked towards where it came from.
"Oh..." Peter groaned. "I've heard that sound before." He looked back at us. "Did it have an animal skull?" He asked Malia. "A human wearing a skull over it's face?"
"I think so."
"What are they?" I asked
We hear the growling again, but closer.
"Berserkers."
We look and see a Berserker coming towards us slowly while growling.
Malia growls and tries moving forward, ready to attack, but Peter grabs her, "Are you crazy?"
"There's just one of them." Malia states.
"And that means we have a chance."
"To beat him?"
"To survive." Peter says before taking off running up the steps.
I grab Malia's hand, pushing her in front of me, and start running after Peter with Scott right behind us. I glance back and see the Berserker running full speed after us.

Malia and I end up running faster than Scott. We see another Berserker in front of us, so we put our arms out to stop Scott from running.

"Scott. It's both of them. They're both here." Malia says panicking.
"Where the hell is Peter?!" I yell clearly annoy and pissed off with him leaving us.
"I don't know, he just took off!" Scott says before we start running up the stairs next to us.
We're almost to the top when a Berserker jumps down and blocks our path. Scott jumps over the one behind us landing on the ground as he claws at it and Malia starts hitting the one in front of us. The Berserker with Scott takes his head and slams it into the wall. I turn and see Malia get cut on her thigh and then thrown into the railing. I roar at the Berserker shifting and start attacking, being trained by both Derek, Allison, and her father helped a lot. Pretty soon the other Berserker throws Scott by Malia and joins in, but I keep up my dodging and throwing in attacks when I see an opening. While I dodged a swipe to my legs, I took a left hook to the face and crashed into the lockers. I quickly moved, avoiding the next attack doing a barrel roll. Out the corner of my eye I see a Berserker make it's way towards Malia, who's still injured on the floor. I run in front of the Berserker and use my body as a shield protecting her. I scream in pain as a claw is driven into my stomach and the Berserker makes it worse by twisting it's arm. I hear Scott in pain as I fall to my knees with my hands covering the wound once the Berserker pulled the claw out. I look up just in time when a fist makes contact with my chin and I'm sent flying backwards. I feel someone catch me before I hit the ground and see Scott looking over my injury.
"It's okay *pant* *pant* I feel it healing." I tell Scott and watch his face relax for a moment.
I look up when I hear someone running towards us and see Kira as she jumps over us. Kira's fighting the Berserkers with her sword, then she takes a split moment to look back making sure we're okay...
"KIRA!" Scott yells
Kira turns around, as her sword is knocked to the ground, and she's punched in the face knocking her down next to us. The Berserkers slowly walk towards us, Come on Scar think of something.
My thought were interrupted when I see Derek running at the Berserkers and starts fighting them. A scream is heard and it caused the Berserkers to run away, leaving Derek on the ground panting. We all get up, well I tried to get up, but ended up with Scott helping me.
"Derek?" Scott asked, unsure if he's okay.
Derek turns around and looks at us. He's back to normal, but instead of blue, his eyes glowed yellow.
