My Partner In More Ways Than One (Sword Art Online Kinon Fan Fiction)

Chapter 2

When I logged into ALO the day i got back from the hospital, the last thing I expected was a party for me! As soon as I logged in I was blindfolded by Klein and Liz. After what seemed like forever of being dragged around we finally stopped.

When the blindfold was ripped off my head of first saw blinding light then I saw all my friends. Asuna, Silica, Agil, Klein, and Liz of course. And then I saw a blue haired cait sith I didn't recognize but she looked SO familiar with the blue hair and the facial structure. Then it hit me. I walk over to her. And smile.

"So Sinon you've joined our little group in ALO, huh?" I say.

She returns the smile. "Well since I'm not sure about GGO anymore I thought I'd find another game and your friends told me you played this one before GGO so I thought I'd give it a shot." She replies.

I decide to poke fun at her. "Aww and here I thought you joined to spend more time with me." She blushes. I laugh and get a punch to the arm. The rest of the party goes by so fast it seems like it lasted only the minutes which it actually lasted for 3 hours. I mostly spent my time with Sinon talking and poking fun at her making sure she felt comfortable in the new game. I learned that she actually joined ALO the day after I woke up in the hospital. When the party dies down everyone leaves besides me and and Sinon.

"I've been wondering how did you know it was me? Even though you've never seen this avatar?" She asks.

"Well to be honest I first reconginized your face and hair and then it just hit me. The eyes and tail almost threw me through a loop but it didn't. Plus how could I not recognize my own partner, that wouldn't be very good and probably would've gotten a slap or punch from you." I say and tickle her in the ribs.

"She has the most genuine and cute laugh I've ever heard. Even betters than Asuna's I'd say. But why am I always thinking these things." I mentally ask myself. And also make a note that Sinon is very ticklish.

After about a minute of tickling her I stop and I think I'm gonna have to run for my life but shockingly she just stands there with a smile on her face and she's blushing pretty badly.

She then almost literally jumps into my arms and gives a hug. I'm so shocked by this that I fall backwards and land in the soft tall grass. She buries her head into my chest and just lies on top of me. After about 5 minutes of straight silence she lifts her head up and looks into my eyes.

She starts to tear up "I'm so happy that you're okay Kirito but I can't help but think it's my fault. Every night since that day I've head the same nightmare. Where he comes back and..." She starts crying.

I don't need her to finish that sentence. I wrap my arms around her and sit up. She cries into my chest and I let her.

"I like the feeling of Sinon in my arms. I don't know why but it feels.... good." I think.

I decide to speak up.

"Sinon I won't let you blame yourself for what happened. I'll admit things could've gone better but what happened happened and there's no changing that. I did what I did because I made a promise to you. I am a man of my word Sinon." I say as I stroke her hair.

"But..." She tries to start protesting but I won't let her.

"But nothing. I promised you I'd protect you  forever and I will do that exact thing." I say and I pull her off my chest and put my hand on her cheek. I raise her face so I can see her beautiful eyes.

I rest my forehead against hers and I feel her tense up and then relax. We stay like until she raises her head and looks at me.
"Thank you Kirito that helped. A lot." She wipes away her tears.

I smile and stand up offering her a hand and she takes it and I help her stand up. But somehow she got over balanced and she falls into me.

But this time I was ready for it and we stayed standing. She looks at me shocked and then she starts blushing intensely.

I smile "Got something on your mind?"

"I'm trying to figure out how to say thanks. Oh I got it!" She comes close to me and puts a kiss right onto my cheek and she lingers for a few seconds before backing away. "Thank you Kirito for saving me." Before I can say anything she logs out with a blushing smile and a wave. When she completely vanishes I pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming.

Nope real life well virtual reality but still. What got into Sinon I wonder? Who knows but I'll definitely remember this.

And now it was my turn to log out of ALO. I push the log out button with my right and and with my left I feel where Sinon kissed me on my cheek.
