Kathy is still crying heavily in the backseat of Carter's car, tissues littering the floor of the car.
As soon as I heard what Kathy said, I lied and said," I don't have my car to take you home, but oh look, it's Carter from school. I'll ask him to take us to your house." It was a terrible lie, but with Kathy creating a new ocean from tears, she didn't notice. Carter said goodbye to his friends, and now we are driving to Kathy's.
" So I came to the mall, you know ( sob ) to see if Eric was there ( sob ) because he usually is. I went into the NIKE store. ( Sob ) it's his favorite store. And I saw him making out with this ( sob ) bleach blonde, ugly, flat chested girl. I was all like ( sob ) ' What do you think you're doing. ' And he said ( sob ) that I was annoying and ( sob ) ugly, and then he broke up WITH ME!!!" Kathy screeched in pain from the back seat.
Carter grunted In annoyance of the traffic, honking his horn repetitively at the car in front of him. This just added to all the noise in the car, and I snapped.
" CARTER!! STOP HONKING!!" I yelled at him.
He looked at me surprised and stopped hitting the wheel. I had never yelled at him before. All the anger inside of me leaked out. Crater looked surprised, in a bad way. I didn't mean to hurt his feelings.
" Sorry. There was just so much noise." I said quietly, trying not to make eye contact with Carter by ripping a stray recite with my fingers.
He sighed, seeming relieved I wasn't super mad at him.
" It's ok." He said, patting me on the shoulder lightly. I felt better.
He turned around toward Kathy, who was now crying silently.
" Do you want me to beat up Eric for you. I have some friends who could do some serious damage too." He said, smiling a caring but sarcastic smile.
I gasped and my eyes bulged," No no no no no! We can not have you on the town news because of a big fight again."
" Don't worry...I'm just kidding." He said slyly.
