Growing up, Ruth B didn't really have friends. She believed in fairy tales. A lot of people thought she was weird. She had one friend. She called him the "Man in the Moon", but even he would not hang out with her a lot because of her beliefs. Ruth B was lonely a lot, but one night, that all changed.

Ruth B was about to go to sleep, when all of a sudden, she saw a shadow flying over her. She looked over at her window and noticed a boy and a little light beside him. He walked to her slowly so she wouldn't freak out. He came to her with the sweetest smile.

"I want to talk for a while." The boy said.

"Who are you? What is that little light beside you?" Ruth B asked.

"Peter Pan. That's what they call me. This little light beside me is Tinkerbell. She's a fairy." The boy said.

"Oh. I thought there was no such thing as--"

Peter Pan quickly flew to Ruth B and covered her mouth. "Don't say it! If you do, that's what will happen." He removed his hand from her mouth.

"Oh, sorry. By the way, my name is Ruth B. Now, is there a reason you two are here?"

"Yes. I want to take you somewhere."

"Where do you want to take me?"

"I want to take you to a place called Neverland."

"Neverland? The ranch?"

"No, silly. It's the second star to the right, and you go straight on until morning. If you come with me, I promise that you'll never be lonely."

"Okay. Wait, why do you want to take me? There are other kids out in the world you could take."

"Because you believe in me. No other kid does."

"Really?"

Peter Pan nodded his head.

"Umm, how are we going to get there exactly?" Ruth B asked.

"We'll fly."

"Fly? I can't fly. Nobody can fly."

Then Peter Pan started flying around the room. Ruth B was amazed, then he sat back on the ground.

"Whoa! How did you do that?"

"You have to believe. Believe in me and believe in yourself. Close your eyes and believe."

"Okay." Ruth B closed her eyes. Tinkerbell flew over her and shook pixie dust on Ruth B. When Ruth B opened her eyes, she noticed that she was off the ground. She was flying. She was excited.

"See, Ruth. Now, are you ready to go to Neverland?"

"Yes, Peter!" Ruth B said happily.

So all of them flew out her bedroom window and flew away. Ruth B looked down on the town that never loved her. Peter Pan took her hand and soon, they reached Neverland.

"Wow! This place is beautiful!" Ruth B said.

"It is, isn't it?" Peter Pan said.

They flew to a beach nearby to take a break from flying. Peacefully, their feet hit the sand. When their break was over, Peter Pan showed Ruth B all of Neverland. He showed her everything until it became dark out. They went to his house.

"Oh, gosh Peter. I have to get home! Everyone is probably worried sick about me!" Ruth B said.

"Everyone?" Peter Pan asked.

Ruth B looked at him, then looked down. She knew nobody was waiting for her at home. She started to cry.

"Hey, don't cry, Ruth. This is why I brought you here. I knew that you were alone on Earth, and I don't want to see anyone alone. I brought you here because I knew you didn't have anyone by your side." Peter Pan said hugging Ruth B.

"I had the 'Man in the Moon', but even sometimes, he would go away, too." Ruth B said crying.

"I know. Which is why I want to ask you something."

"What is it, Peter?"

"Would you like to stay here with me?"

Ruth B's eyes widened. She was silent.

"Hey. I know this is hard for you, Ruth, but think about it. If you stay here, you can become a lost boy. I guess girl in your case. You will hang out with me all the time. When we get bored, we can play in the woods. We can also mess with Captain Hook and his stinky pirates and run away from them. If you stay here, I can take you away from all of reality."

Ruth B thought for a little bit and said, "Neverland is home to lost boys like me, and lost boys like me are free. Yes, I will stay."

Peter Pan smiled and called out for all of the lost boys. They all came as soon as they could and lined up. They all said, "Yes, sir!"

"I would like you guys to welcome the new member of the lost boys."

They all looked at Ruth B.

"But she's a girl. Wouldn't she be called a 'lost girl'?" Tootles said.

"You are right, Tootles; however, since she acts like a boy so much, she will be considered a 'lost boy'. Does everyone got it?" Peter Pan said.

"Yes, sir!" They all said.

"Welcome to our group, Ruth B." Nibs said.

"Thank you. It will be an honor to be with you guys." Ruth B said.
