Daisy had been at home all day with my auntie and I was so excited to see her little face. I walked into the room she shared with Ellie and stopped dead in my tracks. She lay, still as a statue, on the bed. I ran over and cradled her in my arms, praying with all my heart that she was only sleeping.

"Daisy," I whispered gently into her ear. "Daisy, Daisy." The whispers turned more panicky. "Daisy! No please. Wake up," I sobbed uncontrollably and held her close. "Someone help!" Desperately trying to keep my heartbeat steady. I placed the palm of my hand in her little chest. I let out a small sigh of relief but I still couldn't tell if she was breathing.

Moments later I could hear footsteps running up the stairs. I lay my cheek against her forehead and let the tears drip onto her. I wave of love and emotions swept over me.

"Call an ambulance," my dad said, panic in his eyes.

------------

Sirens deafened me as men and women ran into the house. They took Daisy and did all sorts of tests on her. My mum was crying as she was taken to the ambulance to accompany Daisy. I ran out to the end of the driveway and watched as the ambulance whizzed off into the distance.

That's when I began to panic, badly
