Me and Despoine were having a sleepover at my house.
"Hey Hedone, does this mean we're going to be like superheroes?" she asked
"I guess." I answered
"Oh that's awesome!" She exclaimed. We were sitting in my bed. I was writing and she was drawing. (A/N: Our favorite hobbies 😉)
"So, whatcha drawing?" I said peeking at her paper. She quickly covered it up.
"I-it's a surprise!" She said
"Ok. Ok," I laughed "I won't look."
We were silently working on our thaaangs(haha idk?) until she asked, "So Hedone, what school did you go to?"
"Umm... Divine Edu ." I said "How about you?"
"Oh I went to Olympus Prep." She said sadly.
"Why are you sad? That's the best school in this dimension!" I said remembering Posiden was her dad. We were talking for what felt like a few minutes but when I checked my clock- oh it's broken. I checked the time on my phone. It had been two hours. It was 1:00 AM. When I looked up from my phone Despoine was asleep. I shrugged and went to sleep on the floor in my sleeping bag.
----------------Morning--------------------
I yawned. When I woke up Despoine was still sleeping. So I put in my earbuds and listened to Emperors New Clothes.

(A/N: That's the song I'm listening to right now) A bit later she woke up.
"Oh, hey sleepyhead!" I whispered when she sat up. Her hair was a mess.
"Hey I'm a heavy sleeper!" She managed to say. We got up and walked downstairs.  Suddenly, Despoine's phone dinged.
"Ugh, it's my dad." She said exhaustedly. "I got to go."
"But we literally just woke up." I said
"He's weird, but I really have to go. I need to get home before he makes me watch my brothers." She said quickly. Despoine grabbed her stuff, quickly got dressed, and teleported away. Later I decided to visit Aunt Harmonia. She lives in Athens, which I have to take the gods bus that Hermes drives. I waited on the small porch outside the blimp. The bus was below it. Hermes sighed. He made the bus fly up to the porch. I stepped on and went to the back. Eventually I dozed off and fell asleep. I woke up when I was thrown out of the bus by a hooded figure. I saw a wide, sharp toothed smile on their face and then they were gone. The bus drove away.
"W-what? Where a-am I?" I asked not to anyone. I looked around. 'Oh no' I thought. I was in the underworld.
"COME ON! ANYWHERE BUT HERE!" I yelled. This was (one of) the only places that I wasn't used to.There was ghosts of mortals down here and all the ones in this area were looking at me and shaking their heads. I walked around until I saw the biggest temple I've ever seen. 'Wait that's not a temple! It's a CASTLE! Oh my freaking...'
"Wooooo!" I yelled. Then I heard three dogs barking insanely. Well it wasn't actually three dogs, it was one dog. With three heads. CERBERUS. Or as some people call him; the hell hound. He was on a chain, so I assumed I was safe. He was actually pulling on the chain really hard. Hard enough to make it snap.
"Oh no." I said as the dog began to chase me to the side of the castle. I heard a gasp from an upper window. I was running around of the castle courtyard. I was out of breath, but I can't stop running or I'll get mauled by a three headed dog. Just then I trip over a conveniently placed vine. Why do I feel like everything that is happening isn't an accident. I hit the ground. I turned around to see Cerberus bounding closer. I shut my eyes in fear. And then the barking stopped. I heard someone walk close to me.
"Hey, you alright?" They asked. They sounded like a boy about my age. I opened my eyes.

I took his hand and he helped me up

I took his hand and he helped me up. I brushed myself off. I looked around.
"Where did the dog go?" I asked him.
"In the house, duh!" He said smiling, "C'mon, Follow me." I followed him into the grand entrance of the castle.
"Wow, it's huge." I said bewildered at the enormous granite castle.
"I know. I live here." He bragged, "By the way, the name's Zagreus."
"Hedone." I said shaking his hand.
"Hey Hedone, I think you might like my sister." He said running up a huge flight of stairs. He ran to a door with a green narwhal painted on the door. I eventually caught up. Zagreus knocked on it and before we got a response he quickly pushed it open.
"Zagreus! What the frick!" His sister yelled at him. She had short dirty blonde hair in a high ponytail, but most of her hair was in the front. Her eyes were a reddish brown, the same as Zagreus. But the thing that stood out to me, was her white, bird like, wings.
"Woah! Calm it Melin. I brought a friend." He said calmly.
"Really? Cool!" She said excitedly. She ran over to me.
"HiI'mMelinoeWhatsyournamemyfavoriteanimalisthenarwhalilikesteakidontreallyknowwhyisaidthatamitalkingtofastill stop now."
"Geez! Slow down." I said laughing. "I'm Hedone."
"Oh sorry. I'm Melinoe." She said. Then I heard small footsteps stomping angrily toward the room.
"Oh no." Zagreus said annoyed. "Here comes the little devil."
"Melinoe! Zagreus!" A loud squeaky voice yelled. A small girl that looked similar to Melinoe walked in the doorway. "Guys which one of you put the dog in my room!" She yelled. Melinoe glared at Zagreus as if to say, seriously. We were quietly looking at each other for a bit while the little girl got more angry and impatient. Finally, Zagreus said,
"Umm, Macaria, I, IT WAS MELINOE!"
"What? No it wasn't!" Melinoe yelled. They argued like that a little more and then Macaria just sighed angrily and stomped away. Strangely, everywhere she stepped burned the ground a little. Melinoe and Zagreus continued fighting until I said,
"Uh, guys she's gone." They immediately stopped yelling.
"Oh." Melinoe said, "Well anyway Hedone what have you always wanted to do?"
"That's a weird question." I said confused.
"We're the richest immortals in the world, so we can do almost anything." Zagreus said
"Huh, that's pretty obvious." I said looking around the giant room.
"So?" Melinoe said tapping her foot on the floor. I was thinking about my answer when my train of thought stopped. I looked at the two. Wait. Melinoe isn't goddess of anything yet, but Zagreus is?
"Hey Zagreus, um I just wanted to ask what you were god of." I said.
"Well Hedone, you see, I'm not like any other god." He started, "I'm a shifter."
"You probably learned about them in school." Melinoe added.
"Y-yeah we did." I stuttered nervously, "A-aren't they u-usually evil?"
"Yeah, usually." Zagreus said kind of annoyed.
"Well I had just noticed your pin was a wolf. Why?" I asked
"Do you wanna see why?" He asked. Before I could answer, he changed form to a giant gray wolf. His eyes glowed red and huge, sharp, white teeth lined his mouth.
"Woah! I get it, I get it now please change back!" I shouted. I had never met a shifter before. He turned back into himself. Melinoe sighed,
"Can you answer the question now." She said impatiently.
"O-ok I uh have always wanted to see a fire show." I answered. (A/N: This is true.)
"Well, that's easy." Melinoe said grabbing me and Zagreus and flying out the window. We went to an area that had tons of holes in the ground. Melinoe lit matches and threw them in each hole. She stood in between two of them and held out two pieces of wood. Then fire shot out of each hole, and lit the wood. Melinoe threw the wood in the air and caught them. Just then a long black snake tripped her. She stumbled and almost got burned by the fire. She stooped right in front of it.
"Melinoe!" I yelled running to her. The snake curled up about to bite me. Then wolf Zagreus attacked it. Melinoe was just standing there. She closed her eyes tightly. Then four leaf clovers started to show up all over her wings. Her pin flashed green and thus she is goddess of luck.
