I.Mascot Girl.

Hi! I am April Hayden brown hair, black eyes, a typical goody two shoes with seventeen years of existence on this earth. I love reading with passion and that too typical romance books. What can I say I am hopeless romantic! I am passionate about everything I do and I am in love with my life, friends and family. In turn I am loved by everyone. That being said I can be a little scary when I need to be and I don't take shit from anyone. And so, I have been often told that I am an angel with devil horns.

And right now, I am pissed.

Raiding my closet , my clothes covering every inch of the floor , I sat cross legged on the bed not being able to decide what to wear.

It is not that I have a bad fashion sense or anything its just I am too much excited and pissed at the same time to be able to decide. Tonight, is the game night. The most awaited match between my school ' The Crosswoods High' and our dearly rivals ' The Riverdale High.

The Crosswoods High had the best soccer team but I hate to admit so did they. Henceforth, it was a head on match.

And I was excited about this match because three of my best buddies Noah, Brian and Joe were in the team.

I am full on set to cheer for them tonight with my other best friend Lexi.

Frustrated, I ended up wearing my all-time favorite jean shorts and a white crop top. Throwing my hair in messy bun, cause its not like I have to impress anyone. I ran down the stairs.

"Mom I am off!" I called as I slipped on my sneakers and jogged to my mom in the living room.

"Okay sweetie! Have fun! Remember to be back before eleven." Mom warned.

"Yes mom I know!" I said as I kisses her cheek.

My mom is sitting on the couch with jerry in her lap, watching reruns of Gilmore girls.

She and jerry were my only family. Jerry is my brown sweet little puppy.

My dad died four years ago in a car accident. And that was the worst day of mine and my mom's life. My dad was my hero and of course I still love him. It was very hard at first to overcome the pain and loss, though we still miss him terribly there will always be an empty part in our lives, me and mom survived this heartbreak with each others support. My mom is very strong and I am proud of her.

The loud honk cut me off from my thoughts.

"And that's my que." Smiling at my mom I ran outside to see my best friend Lexi waiting for me in her car.

"Lexiii!" I screamed as I jumped in the passenger seat.

"Aprillll!" she mimicked my tone "Are you ready? "

"Yay! Totally! I am dying to see those loser faces of the Riverdales when we win!" I laugh.

Tonight's match was really exciting first because two tough teams were playing, second my favorite people are in the team and last but not the least Jenna our other group mate is tonight's match mascot girl.

Mascot girl tradition is followed by the schools since foundation years. In this both the competing teams have their mascot girls representing the mascots of the teams. Also, the winner team's captain gets to kiss the mascot girl. If you ask me, I would never want to become a mascot girl. Its just not my thing, kissing some random boy if your team loses, wearing skimpy outfit just not my cup of tea.

And you ask what is exciting about Jenna being the mascot girl? I don't know how the council chose her because she is so shy that she absolutely does not fit for this role. She does not even speak to the most of the male population of our school well except for Noah, Brian and Joe.

But its a bonus for us we get to see our little Jenna in that cute little tiger outfit. I hope Jenna does not have to kiss that jerk of a captain of the enemy team but there is always a but...

"Brian is going to make us win!!! And so is Noah and Joe too! I am not saying that its only Brian that gonna play well... Oh god you understand what I am trying to say? " Lexi rambled.

You see Brian is Lexi's boyfriend since a year now and she is head over heels for her to say the least.

"I know I know!" I giggle and nudge her side with my elbow. "Your boyfriend is going to kick some butts!"

"I feel bad for Jenna she won't get to enjoy the game. Though I know she won't have to kiss that captain but do you know the captain of their team is really hot! I have heard that he is the epitome of sexiness! " Lexi says and I swat her arm.

"Yeah! Whatever! And I have also heard that he is a complete jerk! So, let's stop talking about him." I order her to which she pouts.

Lexi parks her car in the lot as we reach the stadium. Loud music, screams and shouts can be heard even outside. We enter the stadium full of noisy people from both the schools crowding the area with posters and sponge fingers. Now you see when I said the match being important.

We take our seats at the bottom of the stands so to get a clear view.

Coaches were running here and there while cheerleaders were performing their routine. The other mascot girl was standing on the stage wearing a sexy bear outfit but Jenna was nowhere to be seen.

"Hey where is Jenna?" I asked Lexi.

"Maybe hiding behind the stage!" She joked.

"Ha-ha" I pretended a laugh. "you wait here I'll just go and check up on her." I told her standing up.

"Fine! Come back soon! Game is about to start." She reminds me.

I quickly made my way behind the stage but Jenna was nowhere in sight.

Harry our school's student council president was talking to some girl. He looked tensed.

I walked to them. "Hey! Harry what happened? Where is Jenna?" I asked.

"Thank god April!" He sighed and I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"I have a favor to ask." He says.

"What favor?"

"Please don't say no!" He pleaded.

He looked so tensed and always being the good one I couldn't say no.

"Okay! But what is it?"

"Uhm... Okay thanks... it's... can you please take the place of mascot girl? Please April. Jenna bailed on me at the last moment." he said and my eyes widen in horror.

Mascot... what...?
