Sunday, my last day of being home alone. My mom will be back tomorrow morning.
Today was so boring, I did nothing except cleaning the house, homework and sleeping. Mom called in the morning to ask if everything is fine and to give me those instructions.
You know, the typical mommy thingy.
I just had my dinner and now I am lounging on the couch watching reruns of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
Chocolates! Suddenly a craving for chocolate ran into me. I stood up and walked to kitchen to find one but I had no luck.
Chocolates are my weakness. There is no way in hell a chocolate would remain in the fridge for more than a day. And if by chance mom bought any, she would hide them from me.
I want chocolates. Like right now.
Hey! Am I pregnant?! Not can happen.
After some futile searchings I decided to go to the store and get one.
Although my mom has strictly told me not to go out after dark. But hey, I am a grown-up girl and the store is just a few blocks away. So, that's final I am going to get what I want.
I wore my jacket and picked my mobile and money and walked out of the house locking the door behind me, with Jerry hot on his heels behind me.
I grabbed his leash; he also needs some outing. He ran out dragging me with him when suddenly he started barking to the other house right beside ours.
He was jumping up the fence, still barking.
"Calm down baby! What happened?"
I crunched down on my heels patting him on his back.
Why is he barking towards an empty house? No one actually lived there since god knows when.
I tip toed towards the fence and peeked at the other side. Due to the lack of light I was not able to see clearly but there were some boxes lying around and there was a pick truck in the driveway beside which was a black colored sedan.
Maybe someone has finally decided to live here, and I hope they are not some crappie guys or old aunties.
"Let us go Jerry! It's no one! " I said scooping up him in my arms and made my way to the other side of the lane towards the store.
I reached there and quickly bought some chocolates, the store wasn't crowded much only a one or two people were loitering around. Not wanting to waste much time, I decided to leave.
I was walking down the road back to home, munching the chocolate with one hand and Jerry in my other hand when I felt someone following me closely behind.
I turned around but there was no one. I started feeling nauseous.
I am actually feeling someone closely behind me. Now I am regretting ever stepping out of the house.
All those strict instructions by mom came hitting me in my head.
Now I am scared, I again turned around but there was no one.
I walked back a few steps nervously to check if someone was hiding in the alley, while Jerry was barking softy in my arms I peered.
Uh ... no one.
I sighed. I think I am getting paranoid. I turned around to run back home but before anything of that sort happen, I bumped into someone in the process.
Ouch! That someone had a very hard chest.
Because I landed on my butt. Jerry was barking loudly.
