"I still don't get why we have to move, mom. I've grown up here all my life and now I have to pack up my bags and leave?" I asked my mom as she put boxes in the moving truck.

"Just help me with this and I'll tell you on the way there. Okay Talon?" My mom said.

"Fine. I'll help but you better have an amazingly awesome excuse to why we have to move to some unknown town. I have to leave my friends and my hometown so I want to know why that is." I said to my mom as I packed boxes also.

"Lonnie, I'll tell you so calm down. Your so antsy about knowing." She said and I playfully glared at her.

"You know I'm starting to think you call me that just to annoy me. There is no way you can forget that I asked you not to call me that. Are you trying to annoy me mom?" I asked her and fixed my shirt then got in the car.

"Yep. It works everytime too. You really are slow if you're just realizing that's what I've been doing. I thought you were smart Talon." She said and started the car.

"I am smart mom. Now, how long is this drive?" I asked and took out my ipod cause I have a feeling I won't like the number she says.

"About 9 hours." She said and I squeaked.

"Mom!" I said loudly and she shrugged. "Do you know anyone there? If you do they better be very very important for you to have a 9 hour car ride with me." I said to her and her eyes widened a bit.

"Yeah. That's all I'm telling you for now though." She said and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh look a switch. Music on, world off." I said and my mom joined me in saying the second part. "Mom don't just don't." I said to her and she laughed.

***9 hrs later***

"I'm cool so I'll just keep saying what you do. You honestly think I don't hear you when your on the phone screaming about what boybands are hot with your friends?" She said and shook her head.

"Stalking isn't cool mom. Stop being a stalker." I said and she waved me off. "Your so rude mom. I thought you loved me." I said to her and she had a weird look on her face as if to say 'I never said those words in my life you crazy monkey.'

"What are you talking about? I don't love you Talon. I just tolerate you because your my daughter." She said with a straight face.

"Evil witch." I said with a straight face then we both started laughing.

"I'm just joking, Lonnie. I love you more than anyone or anything in the world." She said then turned into a gas station. "I'm going to pay. You'll fill the tank right?" She asked and got out not even waiting for me to answer.

"Yeah of course I'll fill the tank mom. Yeah I really wanted to do that." I said then hopped out of the car. I went around to the side with the tank and started to fill it up.

"Hi. Are you new here?" I heard from beside me and turned around to see a guy with black hair and brown eyes. He had on thick framed glasses, white converse, jeans, a black shirt, and a black beanie.

"Yep. Nice style dude." I said to him and he smiled.

"Thanks. What's your name?" He asked me.

"Talon Santos. What's yours?" I said to him and finished getting the gas.

"Shane Ashton. Why'd you move here?" He asked me as I leaned against the car.

"I wish I knew. If I did I'd tell you." I said to him and looked at the gas station window and my mom just paid for something.
