With a sigh of relief Matthew stepped into the airport building of Los Angeles. "Finally", he whispered to himself as he brought his suitcase to the check-in counter. In a few hours he would be back in Las Vegas and Matthew couldn't wait to see his girlfriend again.

He had been so extremely busy over the last months with filming Criminal Minds and three movies that he barely had gotten time to spend with her. She didn't have had any chance to fly over to Los Angeles to visit him due to her job and he didn't blame her. They both had been busy over the last months. But hee missed her sorely, he always did when she wasn't with him.

Skype chats, facetiming, phone calls and whatsapp messages weren't enough for him and he knew, they weren't enough for her as well. He longed for her touch, her body, just everything. He wanted to run his fingers through her hair and kiss her lips and just hold her in his arms for as long as possible.

A smile creeped on his face when Matthew thought about the next weeks. He would finally go back home again, to the place he truly belonged. To the one woman he loved since years and that love was pretty much enough for him if he was honest.

As much as he loved and enjoyed his job, he urgently needed a break from filming, from living in Los Angeles and seeing all the same faces every day. What place would have been better for that break than the place where he came from?

While the world underneath him got smaller and smaller, Matthew leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes. If he'd only find some sleep, the time would go by faster and when he'd woke up he'd be in Las Vegas. But sleep didn't want to come. Matthew was too excited to see his girlfriend again, to spend some weeks just with the ones he loved, with no responsibilities.

So he kept staring out the window into the darkness that surrounded the plane right now. Time couldn't go by fast enough and it seemed to him like he would sit here for an eternity. But with every mile he got closer to his hometown and the woman he loved.

And when the finally plane started to sink, Matthew's heart was beating fast in his chest, full of excitement and anticipation. He could see the lights of Las Vegas coming closer and his excitement grew. Only a few more minutes and he'd step on Las Vegas ground.

Matthew couldn't get to the exit of the airport fast enough. But when he came to the arrival area, he could hear someone shouting his name. He looked around – there were so many people waiting for their loved ones that it took him a few seconds to finally spot the young woman standing there, waving at him with a beaming smile on her beautiful face.

"Caroline!", Matthew shouted back and hurried towards her, his suitcase in one hand pulling after him.

He let go of it as soon as he reached her so he could wrap his arms around her. "Oh god, I missed you so much", Matthew whispered into her ear and she couldn't hold back a sob. Matthew pulled away from her, a bit scared by her reaction.

"What's the matter? Are you alright?" His eyes examined Caroline, searching for a reason she was sobbing now. But she nodded.

"I'm...okay, I'm just...so happy that you're here again", she stammered before she took a deep breath to calm herself down. "I missed you so much, the last months were basically hell."

Matthew pulled her in an embrace once again and pressed a gentle kiss on Caroline's lips. "I'm here now and we've got a lot of time for ourselves for the next weeks", he promised as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder. He wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Caroline snuggled into his arms and leaned her head against his shoulder. "I didn't expect you to come catch me up", Matthew quietly admitted and Caroline chuckled, looking up at her boyfriend.

"You seriously thought I'd wait at home for you to come?" She looked at him quizzical and Matthew smirked. "Well, it was a nice surprise", he then said and kissed her cheek. "Let's go home now. I just want to be alone with you."

With a happy smile on her face Caroline scooted closer to Matthew and buried her face in his neck. She kissed his soft skin while his fingers stroked her naked shoulder. "I missed being close to you", she mumbled against his skin and could feel him nod.

"Me too." Matthew wrapped his arms tighter around Caroline's body. "I'm sorry that I've not been the best man or friend for you lately. You deserve better, to be honest."

Caroline looked up at him frowning. "Don't be silly, Matthew. You're the only one I want." She gently stroked his cheek.

Matthew sighed and turned his head to look at her. "You have no idea how lucky I call myself to have you. Although I'm away so often, although we can't see each other as often as we want, you still stay with me and love me." Matthew's facial expression told Caroline that he couldn't believe she was still there. She smiled and scooted even closer to him, wrapping a leg around his.

"And you have no idea how glad I am to have you. I know it's not easy sometimes but we keep going since four years now", Caroline said while her fingers painted invisible patterns on Matthew's bare chest, "and...I've got to tell you something." The smirk on her face made him curious and he was wondering what was going on. He frowned.

"Okay, then...tell me." He was impatient, what made her chuckle. She sat up in the bed and wrapped the blanket around her body.

"I'll move to L.A.", she burst out and watched Matthew's eyes widen. She bit her lips and tried not to laugh. He looked as if he wouldn't believe her a word.

"Are you serious? I mean...what...what about your job here? What about...your friends?" He stammered. Caroline laughed and grabbed one of his hands.

"I'll still be able to come here and see my friends. And...I've applied to several jobs in Los Angeles and one of those companies wants me, so..." She shrugged. Would Matthew even be happy that she'd moved into the city he spent most of his life in? Or would he be overextended? She hadn't thought about that possibility so far.

But Matthew just grabbed her waist and pulled her into his arms. "I can't believe you're doing this just to be closer to me", whispered into her hear and Caroline smiled. She buried her face in his neck once again and nuzzled the skin there.

"I love you, Matthew. And I'm sick and tired of living in Las Vegas while you're spending most of your time in Los Angeles. I want to be with you. I want to be able to touch you everyday, to kiss you and to laugh with you", Caroline admitted as she looked up to him again.

Matthew smiled and gently pushed a strand of hair out of her face. "I love you, too. All I need is your love, that's all I need to be honest."

And then he kissed her while he pulled her back into the sheets with him. He couldn't remember a time he had been happier than he was now, holding his girlfriend in his arms and knowing that she'd live with him soon.

While Matthew held Caroline close to himself, he realized that he felt at home wherever she was, no matter if it was in Las Vegas, New York or Los Angeles.
