The Curse...

I walked down the street from my house. We ran out of milk so my mum told me to get some more. I'm Cindy Parker. I'm 15 years old and nothing in my life is exciting enough. Something needs to happen. Anyway I have brunette hair and hazel eyes just like my dad, apparently. He died when I was born. He had a car crash. So I don't know him much. My interests are I like to study ghosts and spirits. It sounds kind of scary but it's very interesting. Recently I've been working on a project about ghosts and their habitats, which is teaching me a lot. I'm also into a lot of science.

So, I was walking down the street towards 'Brown's' and I felt someone following me. I looked behind me and saw no-one which was kind of freaky because Wolsey road was always packed with people. It wasn't raining, just cloudy. I looked around seeing wrappers flying in the wind and bottles and cans scraping against the side-walks. It was a Sunday so most of the shops were closed. Except the local grocery shops of course. Blocks away from 'Brown's' I walked slowly taking my time. I kicked a can across the street and to my surprise it got kicked back. I looked across the road confused and there was no-one. I kicked it again and it came back to me. Freaky... I ran down the road to 'Brown's' and pushed myself in. Everyone stared at me as I pushed myself in. I bent my head down and looked for the milk. I found it on a shelf at the back of the shop. I snatched it and went to pay for it. As I made my way to the counter someone grabbed my wrist and I felt a surge of pain rise through my arm. "Ouch"! I screamed. I looked beside me to see who it was, seeing a tall man with a hooded jacket and yellow eyes glaring at me. His stench was absolutely revolting. He stunk of cigarettes and those dirty tunnels you sometimes goes through that smells of pee and god knows what else! His grip was getting firmer on my wrist until he said something I didn't quite understand until he left the shop. He said I was cursed...

Obviously he doesn't know who I am. I was just really confused on why he said it to me. After that I didn't really feel in the mood to call up Jesse. He's my best mate. But to my luck he came round after dinner making an excuse to my mum that we have homework to do. My mum is so gullible, too gullible. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten away with half the stuff I did in my life. That's why I love her, ha-ha!

Anyway I was in my bedroom listening to music. I don't tidy my room that much, and mum doesn't make me clean it so...

I have posters all around my wall, red carpet and a TV with a small chest of drawers. It was quite a miniature bedroom as I don't have a brother or a sister. I just finished listening to 'Hot n Cold' by Katy Perry when Jesse burst through the room.

"For goodness sake Jesse, what's your problem?" I took my headphones out of my ears angrily and shoved it on the bed.

"Sorry Cind, but how could you have heard me if you had headphones on?" Jesse grinned.

"I just turned it off, and then you came barging in wiping out all the silence in the room!"

"Alright calm down!" He came and sat on my bed.

"So what are you doing then?" He said, while looking at his mobile phone.

"Nothing, I'm a bit freaked out but yeah I'm ok", I said without giving anything away. I really didn't feel like telling Jesse what happened in the shop. He'd just be ecstatic. More worried than my mum! Please don't ask why you're freaked, please!

"Why you freaked?" Crap...

"Don't worry, it's nothing", I said trying to look busy while I look through my drawers, still trying to think of something to look for.

"Ok, well then I better go", Jesse stood up and headed towards the door. He looked disappointed.

"No wait, I'm sorry Jesse. Its cause I have so much on my mind I don't know how to think straight", I said getting up to close the door. He stared at me with a frightening look I've never seen before. He was right in front of me now. Jesse's eyes burned into mine as his blue glistening eyes twinkled in the moonlight as he fixed on me. He began to stiffen.
