Chapter 5 - The mysterious man

Y/N's POV~

He picked me up and ran off into the forest, I heard someone yelling, "HEY, STOP!" Or "GET BACK HERE!" But soon enough it was distant. Eventually he carried me to a small camp he must've set up, he sat me in a log then walked to the other side of the burnings fire.

"W-Why did you save me?" I stuttered.

"Because, I knew Zane was just going to kill you off after one of his sick plans payed off. Your welcome." The man said with his face covered by a red bandana.

"I don't know how I'll ever repay you..."

"You don't have to... It's fine... I've saved others."

"So where you headed?"

"I'm headed to kill the one who killed my family."

"W-What happen if you don't mind me asking..."

"Zane... He's the one who gave my son that amulet... If I didn't take it from him he'd be alive right now... I killed them all it seems..."

"Killed them all?"

"My village... My family... My friends... Dead... All because of me."

"It's not your fault you didn't know! Plus Zane technically did it by giving the amulet to your son! Don't beat yourself up over this stuff! We all lose things we care for!"

"What have you lost?"

"Most of my memory."

Y/N POV~

Night had fallen and the man cooked some food over the fire then we ate, I laid down in the grass and started to drift off.

The next morning I awoke with the man leaning up against a tree, he was shirtless! His hair was black and he wore his red bandana, his back was facing me though so he didn't see that I was awake, I looked down then noticed his jacket was over me. Did he sacrifice his warmth for mine?

"H-Hey..." I said softly.

He turned around to look at me, "Hey..." He yawned.

"You seem tired..."

"I am, I didn't sleep at all last night... I decided not to wake u up."

"You didn't have to do that!"

"I know but you need your rest now then where are you from."

"Well, last before Zane I was in Phoenix Drop."

"Actually that's good.. I'm headed there now..."

"Why?"

"Well I need to have a word with the lord."

"Oh! Aphmau? She's really nice!"

"Oh she is now? I thought she was friends with Zane Ro'Meave."

"Not at all... Zane kidnapped me from Phoenix Drop when he was trying to take Garroth."

"Garroth...? Ro'Meave?"

"I don't know..."

"Well, whatever...  Let's just get out of here... Can I have my jacket?"

"Yes..." I threw his jacket to him then we headed off.
