Rose, just in the nick of time , caught the train to Exeter to surf there for the day. She wanted a way to get the endorphins pumping round her body, to distract her from Jordan. The train journey hadn't taken that long, and was only about a 1 and a half hour trip. She didn't have much stuff to carry, as the surfboard was supplied at the sea center and all she had was her Kindle Paperwhite, her wetsuit, some water, a lunch and her towel. She was ready to catch some waves.

"So Cam, where do you want to go?" Jordan said, frantically,  from one end of the phone.
"I don't mind, up to you babe, anything for you babe."
He rolled his eyes.

Jordan  honesty did not know why he was getting back with Camilla, but he already had his mind set on what he wanted to do.
He had this image in the back of his mind of a beach of the coast of Exeter, Turf Beach, he thought it was, but couldn't remember who had told him about it. It must have been National Geographic or something. Little did he know it was Rose, she told him about the beach in one of the more formal conversations they shared while she was still his tutor. Maybe it was fate, or maybe it was luck, but today the beach was bringing Jordan and Rose back together.

"Um, how about her go surfing near the south coast? It's quite a long way away, but the fastest train only takes about 2 hours?" He asks Camilla.
"Fine. Yeah. Sure." She was so monotone, no real character, not like Rose.

The salty smell of the sea was a refreshing contrast to the the disgusting monoxided-clouds that smeared the Cambridge sky. The sun was dazzling and it was the perfect day to go surfing. Rose was filled with joy, and ready for the action-packed, surf themed, day ahead of her.
She put her things in one of the lockers, and set out for the waves in the beautiful, cobalt sea.
The waves were high that day, but she was fit for the challenge, of riding them.
In fact, Rose was balancing on her board perfectly, skimming the white water below like a flat rock.
After a while, she went back to the beach to read for a bit, but this didn't last long. In the corner of her eye she saw a gigantic wave, trembling like a horse to the shore. Rose, being that annoying girl she was, thought that she was fit for the challenge.

She ran in, hopped on her board and front crawled as far as she could, before settling on her board.

"Oh look who it is again? Isn't it good old thorny?" Said a familiar voice, in a familiar tone, with a familiar face not far from Rose.
Oh no. Really? Today? Of all days?
Camilla.
"What are you doing here?" She said sternly, keeping her cool, still paddling.
"Oh, nothing much, Jordan my boyfriend just asked me to come to this beach with him 'cos he said he thought it was nice," She snarled.

How could he? This was her beach, the one that was special to her, and Jordan had just thrown it all away. She was going to beat Camilla to the wave on the horizon if it was the last thing she would do.

Jordan was chilling with his sunglasses on, resting on the opposite side of the beach to Rose, finally getting his mind off her. He was starring aimlessly Camilla, who was supposedly "amazing at surfing" tackle a huge wave and he watched as she trailed behind a girl. Camilla was still a safe distance but Jordan noticed she wasn't moving away. The first rule of safe surfing is to keep your distance. Why wasn't she moving away? They were both dangerously close to each other, almost at the wave. Wait, the girl Camilla was with, was that Rose? He stood up abruptly, throwing his shades off. It WAS Rose. He watched as they both approached the wave. Rose reached it first and glided up the side of it with ease. Camilla was behind, on the inner side of the wave. Oh no. She was... No... That's against the rules of the surf. Camilla was trying to crash Rose's board.
"Stop it! STOP IT!" He screamed.
"Aaaaaahh!"
He heard a piercing scream coming from where Rose was. His head whipped around but he couldn't see her - anywhere.  She was under, her board slipping from beneath her. He now hated Camilla even more than EVER before.

Jordan scrambled to his feet and sprinted to the waves, slipping on the wet sand as he went but never stopping. Never slowing down, even as he splashed into the freezing sea. The water splashed cold against his legs, he still had his jeans on, but he didn't feel the pain. Jordan knew he had to get to Rose fast.
If he didn't...
He knew his whole world would go with her.
