Chapter 51

"Choose? Are you joking?" I pull away from their grasp, turning to face the two of them, "You're both being ridiculous!"

"(Y/N)-" Nikki reaches out to me, but I move out of her way.

"Don't touch me! You both know that I love you equally, so why put me through something like this?!" I feel my eyes begin to water. Deciding that I've had enough, I stretch my wings and take to the sky.
The two of them call my name, their voices fading as I shoot higher. "I can't do this...not now.." After wiping the fresh tears from my cheeks, I sit on a cloud, flapping my wings to keep steady.
The sky looked beautiful from such a high view; the white clouds and blue atmosphere came together almost like a painting. "It's so calming.." Sighing contently, I allow my body to fall back as my eyes close.
The feeling of tearing through the cold air brushed my skin. A smile crept its way onto my face while the overwhelming emotions melted.

"(Y/N)!!" Ciel shouted.
My wings contracted.
"You're too close!" Nikki shrieked.
I open my eyes calmly.
"I know what I'm doing." Whispering, I spread my arms, gliding across the grass before shooting back up into the sky. After another five minuets, I made up my mind; landing back down.

The two look at me expectantly with crossed arms as if I was about to spit out a reply at that very second.
"You know.." I spoke suddenly, "I could really use a drink of water and a cookie right about now.."

Nikki looked to Ciel before sprinting back towards the manor. The bluenettes eyes widen as he chases after her. Their shouts echoed through the open windows, causing me to chuckle.
"I could really get used to this."

In a matter of moments, both Ciel and Nikki had returned with the glass of water and treat.
The Neko glared at the younger demon, flicking her tail before grinning at me. "Here you are, mistress."
Just as I was about to thank her, Ciel pushed her to the side, "Now, you wouldn't want that from her, it most likely has some disease. I brought you a freshly baked one."

"Freshly baked my ass!" Nikki scoffed, slapping the cookie out of Ciels hand, "I saw you take it from a box! Mine is one that I prepared myself recently."

"Oh, and as if that's even the truth-" The bluenette began, but I spoke over him: "I really need to get back to the manor...but I don't really want to walk."

"I'll carry you!" Ciel stated as he swooped me up in his arms, heading for the large doors. Nikki huffed and bolted past us. "I'll draw you a bath, my lady!"

His eyes narrowed. "Why are you playing along? Why not just choose?"

"And why not take advantage? What, are you afraid Nik will do better that you?" I taunt with a smug expression.
With a growl, Ciel carried me into the manor. "Never. You're mine and mine alone."

"That's why I love you." Pecking his cheek, I lean my head against his shoulder. "There was never a doubt in my mind on who I wanted, I just was curious as to how far the two of you would go. Honestly...I was also slightly scared. But, I knew I would be choosing you. I love Nikki, don't get me wrong, but I can only see her as a close friend right now."

A grin crept slowly onto Ciel's face. "You never thought twice about wanting to remain with me?"

"Never in a million years."
