Just a camping get together

For all my life I've seen many things, and I've seen what those things would do. But, I have never seen a creature that was so eager to feast on it's prey. Especially, when the prey is too vulnerable twords it, like us humans.
The thing is just picking us all, one by one. And I'm the only one who knows it. I've tried to warn them, but they won't believe me! I even showed them proff, but they just don't think it's real! It is real! I know it!
Let me start from the beginning, so that you won't get confused.

I lived in the eastern part of Texas, where a lot of people would stay outside and have their own fun times. It was more happier that way. I was always an outdoors person, but now I think it's better inside. I lived with my mother and father, along with my little brother, Jessie. And of course our hound dog, Hunk.
We had a huge forest in our backyard, and I loved going out there! But, I never did get to have a good enough time out there, ha mothers. One day, some of my friends and I planned on camping out in the forest.
At first my mother declined for us to go, but we were responsible enough for it. So we got to go, but as long as we don't go too far.

Now I regret not listening to her.

My three friends, Kansas, Kyle and Josh. Brought everything that they needed for the trip. I only brought small things like a flash light, sleeping bag, a camera, and a pocket nife.
I also thought it would be a good idea to bring Hunk along, in case we get lost or something. We planned on staying in the woods for at least four or five days. So that way each of our parents wouldn't worry and all.

On the journey for a camping spot, Kyle told us that we could tell each other gost story's when it was night time, or maybe even play some games in the dark. I thought that would be fun, but Josh declined at the idea. Josh never liked to be scared, especially at night time. And he also thought that doing pranks were nothing but childish games. Pfff, talk about a let down.
Of course, me and kyle had second thoughts and we were about to cancel our plans. But that's when Kansas told him to stop being a wuss. And eventually, she persuaded him to man up and do the activities with the rest of us.
Kansas was an amazing girl to be friends with. She was the kind girl who you'd call, a tomboy. She was strong, smart, funny, and a little sassy. I've known her ever since we met in second grade, and we've all ways helped each other out.

Time had pasted and we found a place to camp. We seted up everything for the night, and we were preparing the fire.
" So Adam, you know this whole woods right?" Josh asked me, with a little bit of worry in his eyes. I rolled my eyes and looked at him. "Yes josh, I know my way around here, so there's no way we could get lost." I said, laughing a little bit. "Okay just wondering." He answered.
"You had to bring your brother along." I whispered to kyle sarcastically. He smirked at me. "Well I couldn't leave him at home all by himself, who knows what would've happened." Kyle chuckled. I couldn't help but laugh back.

When it finally got to night time, the fire was lidded up and pervided us warmth. Kansas gave us some marshmallows to rost. Thank God we had food with us. As we had rosted marshmallows, we decided to play truth or dare to pass the time.
"Who wants to go first?" Kyle asked us. I was gonna raise my hand, but kansas wanted to be first. "Ok Kansas, truth or dare?" He asked her. "Like you needed to ask, Dare!" She said playfully. Of course she would've choose that. Kyle thought for a moment, he looked at me for a second and smiled.
"I dare you, to snuggle up with Adam for the night." He said, with a evil smile on his face.

I was never really the violent type of guy, but I really wanted to punch kyle's face. He knew that I had a crush on kansas, and he promised not to tell people. But I always thought that he would someday tell someone.
"Okay then." She said, getting more closer to me. She leaned on me, facing the fire. "Josh, truth or dare?" She asked without hesitation. "Oh...uhhh, truth." Josh studered. "Is it true that your afraid of the dark?" Kansas asked, raising a brow. "No, I am not scared of the dark." He answered her.
Kyle chuckled a little. "Are you sure about that? Cause I seem to remember that you sleep with a little night light." Kyle said, tilting his head. "It's not a night light, it helps me read at night!" Josh replied firmly.

We were interpreted by the sound of Hunk barking.
