"Going somewhere, are we." It teased, getting ready to ponce at us. I quickly looked around me and picked up the nearest item, a crate. I swung with all my might and hit it's head. It let out a cry of pain, two of his hands holding his head. It gave us the chance to get out. "Hury!" I called out to my friends.
Me and Kansas got out just in time, but Josh didn't make it. Enivid got him! We turned around and tried to save him. "No! Don't worry about me, just go! Ahh!! GET OUT OF HERE!" He shouted to us, trapped in the monsters grasp. Before I ran off with kansas, I only got a glimpse of josh's neck getting snapped in half.
I still remember it today.

When we got closer to my house, we had to stop and take a breather. We've been running for so long and scared out of our lives, that we didn't even think about looking back.
I looked over at Kansas, she was tired as I was. She had a scrape on her arm, she must of had it when we got out of the Lab. Thankfully we had a medical kit at home. "Come on, we're almost there." I assured her, holding my hand out to guide away. She nodded and held my hand firmly.
We made it back safely. Although we were still worried about Enivid following us, we didn't hesitate to call out to anyone. But we wouldn't get somewhat of a answer.

I tried opening the back door, it was locked. A Note appeared at the bottom side of door knob.
It read, 'Hey kids, sorry if you can't get in, but we had to run some errands, so no one's home at the time. But hey if you need anything, we left the gurage unlocked for you guys!
-love, Adams Mom and Dad.'
I was furious at this, I almost screamed out with rage! But I held it back, it would of attracted more attention to that monster. I gave kansas the note so she could read it. "What do we do now? If there's no way in and no one's around, what are we gonna do?" She asked me with her voice trembling. I huryed my way over to the gauge, kansas followed and helped me open the door.

Most of the gurage was my dad's tool office, so it had a lot of spare car parts and stuff. I looked around the room, only moving most of the objects away. I then got down on the floor and peaked under the table. I finally found what I was looking for, I reached out for it and pulled it out.
A double-barrel shotgun.
Kansas's eyes widened, she must of not expected that my family had a shotgun. I informed her that I new how to use a gun, ever since me and my dad would go hunting every once a month. I was pretty good with it actually! But I wasn't trying to brag about, especially in this kind of situation.
I loaded it with bullets and put spare bullets in my pocket. There was no way I would let that thing get to us! I also found a machete that was still good. "Here, take it. But make sure you don't hurt yourself." I said to kansas, handing over the machete.
She took it with caution and then stared back at me.

"Abam, I-I'm really scared. What if it finds us? W-what if we c-can't get
a-away from it, and then die j-just like Kyle and Josh?! What if..." Kansas blurted out, her words trailing off with quite sobs. I placed my hand on her head, slowly and softly stroking her hair. It seemed to of calm her a bit.
"That won't happen. Trust me, If that thing gets anywhere near you, then I'd make sure it gets killed first." I said to her sweetly and truthfully. Her eyes were filled with watery tears, but I could slightly see her starting to blush. "You....You'd really do that? Or are you trying to make me feel better? Why should you even be more afraid of me getting hurt?" She asked with stern voice.
"I'm not just saying this! I really worry about you because I...." I stopped at the last moment. I almost told her my secret about her. "Because what, Adam?" Kansas demanded. My mind spended, should I tell her or go speachless? I wanted to suggest a different answer, but I could tell that she wasn't gonna let it go. No going back now.
"It's because....I...like you Kansas. I've liked you for a very long time, and....I'd do anything for you." I whispered softly to her, my face felt hot.
