Author's Note: Hey bookworms! I should've updated this a couple of days ago but I've been really busy. I'm going to Hawaii this week! I'll try to update before I leave and when I get back, but then I'll be leaving to MY summer camp in big bear, three days after. Yes, yes I know. I'm a busy chick. But never too busy to hear your constructive criticisms or comments :) Enjoy the new chappie!
I wake up to someone playing with my nose. "Stop that. That tickles." I mumble. Next thing I know, I can't breathe because someone's pinching my nose closed. I smack the hand away.
"Mac, stop!" I say, but turn around to see Mac with his mouth and hands full of gummy worms. I look over to see Jamie grinning. I scowl at him. "Jamie, what if I had asthma? I could've died!" I yell.
"No, you couldn't have." says Nicole, texting on her phone.
"Rule number One," says Mac with his mouth full. "Never fall asleep on a Camp Whistle bus." He stuffs his face with more gummy worms.
"Why not?" I ask. That's a stupid rule. What if someone has a headache, or something?
"Because someone will wake you up, not so nicely." Says Jamie.
I roll my eyes at him.
"Yeah", says Terrence on the side. "You're just lucky Grody isn't on this bus."
All the guys chorus in "Yeahhs", and "Yupps", before I ask, "What's a Grody?"
"Grody, my dear friend," says Justin. "Is the nastiest, scrawniest, and most annoying prankster in the camp."
He laces his hands behind his head as Nico says,
"Yeah, his real name is Brody. But his pranks are always nasty and umm..." he scratches the back of his neck. "So is his face if I might add," all the guys crack a laugh. "So everyone just calls him Grody."
"Well, I'll remember to stay away from him if I see him." I say.
"Don't worry Newgirl, I got your back." says Jamie, patting me on the head.
I turn around and face him. "Why'd you wake me up?" I ask.
"Cuz' we're here." He points outside the window.
I turn to look out my window and see a bunch of trees, and cabins as our bus drives by. Our bus slows to a stop in front of a big sign that says 'Camp Whistle', next to the other busses. Everyone on the bus "Whoos!!" as they realize we've stopped.
Maddie stands up and blows a whistle. "Okay, everyone! We're going to be getting off, but I ask that you be patient for a moment. I'm going to step off for a sec, so that I can talk to the other camp leaders. Please stay seated." She says, and gets off the bus.
"You ready, Bambie?" calls Justin.
"Yup. Are you ready Bieber?" I ask him, putting my snacks away.
"How cute." Says Nico. "Bambie and Bieber." He laughs.
"Yeah, too bad you don't have a nick name, Nico." Says Justin.
"Amber will give me a nick name. Ain't that right Bambie?"
"Uh... you can't really give a nick name to a name that's already pretty short, without it sounding dumb, so umm, sorry. You're just Nico." I give him a sad smile.
"That's cold Amber. That's real cold." Is all he says.
Maddie steps back on the bus and says, "Alright! We're getting off now. First row, please rise."
