hello this is my new story with what i hope is a creative idea but ye enJoy

everywhere you go you leave a footprint, and everyone has a unique colored footprint. wherever you go, you leave them behind, marked with your own personal color. they can range from all sorts of vibrant yellows to relaxing beiges to daring reds to pastel greens. there are infinitely many shades of color, and each set of soulmates has one unique tone and shade of their own specialized color.

the problem is, not everyone finds their soulmate in their lifetime.

they say that when you find footprints your soulmate has left behind, the edges glow with white light. but what happens for those who never find footprints that glow?

well, the thing is, a person is not only capable of perceiving their soulmates footprint, but the footprints of those who have colors similar to theirs. the footsteps of the world are categorized into nine main categories- reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, purples, pinks, browns, and grays. this means that purples can only see people's footsteps that are also shades of purple, and same goes for all the other categories.

within each category, there are a range of people; with metallics and pastels and brights and darks and all sorts of variations. meaning, even if you can't find your true soulmate, you can come very close. the closer you get to your color, the more compatible you are. some people end up marrying someone whose footprint is only relatively close to theirs. and then there are those who refuse to go anywhere near anyone but their soulmate.

dean winchester is a blue, and he is dead-set on finding his soulmate. he's 37 and has yet to find glowing footsteps. he has found a couple sets of prints that were close to his own light pastel blue-- he had compared his own footprint. there have even been a few times when he thought he had found the one, but it turned out just to be his own steps, outlined in black specifically so people don't make that mistake. but no, he has never found his soulmate, and no, he will never be with anyone until he does.
