My Dearies!!!
As you can see, I'm not dead. Neither have I abandoned this fic. Never!!
There's a lot to tell you. This chapter took forever for me to write it, as you might noticed. The way I intended to write it at first was much more... I don't know what word to use. Perhaps... visceral and explosive, or maybe raw, kinkier... Anyway, it wasn't working. AT ALL!!
Instead, the final product is much sweeter, but NOT less hot. I can tell you that! However, my muse, perhaps in compensation for the lack of inspiration for the chapter, came up with an amazing idea for a side story. So, instead of just one chapter, you're getting what you could count as 2! The story is titled HIDE and SEEK and you can find it on my profile. It's essentially about a nightmare Oliver had and it's mentioned in this chapter.
I'm talking too much, so I'll leave to what you came here to do.
Happy reading!!

CHAPTER 7
"I am forever your safe harbor. When the walls around you cave in, when there's nothing left but pouring rain, you'll find your heart inside my hands."
-- Starry Night
Felicity was preparing the second pot of coffee of the day, and it wasn't even nine in the morning. She needed extra amount of caffeine that day. She woke up at dawn, despite that she had stayed up late investigating that Voikevich character that Oliver had told her. It wasn't a surprise that the guy had a long list of businesses, some legal and others not so much. She took a break to brew her poison of choice, meanwhile she let an algorithm run on her computer. She was rechecking her findings one last time before telling Oliver. She wanted to be one hundred percent sure of every data and connection to others that she discovered, before disclosing it. She was aware of how delicate the situation was and she didn't want to throw anyone under a bus unnecessarily. Just because she wasn't thorough.
Someone knocked at her door, and she went to see who it was. The joy she felt when she looked through the peephole multiplied when she opened the door. Oliver was there, physically looking a little better than the day before. Just slightly. But his mood was as dark as a moonless night.
"Hi," he said.
"Hey," she said back, letting him in. "How are you feeling?"
"Much better now."
He didn't let her to doubt that, much less to refute it. Oliver walked into her personal space, wound his arms around her, and kissed her. The moment, in which his lips touched hers, Felicity forgot everything else. Nothing else mattered, but those sweet lips devouring her mouth. The world lost its importance, except for those strong hands pushing her closer to him.
By instinct, Felicity pushed herself up on her tiptoes, trying to reduce their height difference. But it wasn't enough. Oliver ran his hands down her back, reaching for her butt, and lifted her as if she weighed nothing. She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. Both moaned in unison when their bodies aligned in perfection. Felicity couldn't help but ground her hips against Oliver's.
He approved the motion. In fact, he used his hands to push her harder against him. He kissed her with unleashed passion. There was an all-consuming primal need driving him. She sensed his desperation to be lost in her. This wasn't Oliver in his typical day. That was an Oliver that needed to forget everything for a few minutes. She knew how much he needed this. He didn't have to say it, but Felicity knew the huge turmoil inside him. A windmill of emotions that threw him off his balance.
