Tom's POV
So. Look who came running back after all these years. That stupid Norwegian just now decides to come back. I missed him. I've always treated him like shit, it's hard for me to show the emotions I feel for him. He had no idea I had feelings for him.
Tord was greeted by Edd. "Welcome back buddy!"
"We've missed you!" Matt said. Tord smiled and did his share of greetings. He glanced at me. My heart began to race. His silver eyes showed flashes of interest. But why?
"Hello old fr-"
"How long are you staying for?" I interrupted him. Edd gave me a threatening stare, but I ignored it. "Tom! Don't be rude!"
Tord laughed. "It's fine, Edd. And I'm not leaving, in fact, I'm moving back in." Everyone at that moment gasped. Seconds later, Edd and Matt squealed like fangirls. I rolled my "eyes", though no one could tell.
About an hour has gone by and we were on the subject of where Tord could stay. "You can stay in my room, Tord! We can have sleepovers, and have pillow fights, and-"
"You know what? I think it's best I sleep on Edd's floor." Tord interrupted Matt mid-sentence. Matt frowned. "No can do, Tord." Edd shook his head.
"Why not?" His accent thick. God, I loved his voice.
"I've got loads of art supplies I still have to organize. That and I usually stay up pretty late. I wouldn't want to ruin your sleeping habits." Tord sighed. For a moment, everyone looked in my direction. Tord noticed this too, and his eyes widened.
"Oh hell no." I told them.
"Stay in Tom's room? I'd rather put a bullet through my skull!" I looked at the Norwegian after he said that. Was he serious? Would he actually do something like that? Who am I kidding, he had no idea how I really felt.
Edd just shrugged it off. "It's not that bad! And besides, would you rather sleep on the sofa?" Tord snorted stubbornly. "No," He said firmly.
"Then bring your stuff to Tom's room." With that, Edd walked off. Tord grunted and looked at me. His face almost looked as red as his hoodie. Why was he blushing?! Anxiety found its way to my stomach. Did he really feel the way I felt?
Roughly an hour passed and I was in my room, adjusting Susan's strings. Tord was looking at his phone in the corner of my room. Probably hentai. Every once and a while, I'd catch him looking up at me. Weird. We sat in silence until Matt knocked on the door.
"Come in." Matt looked at me. "Edd said there would be a storm, like, a bad one."
"Should we board up the windows?"
"It's not that severe."
"I don't see why we should worry. Thanks for telling us." With that, Matt left my room. I looked over at Tord, then I noticed something was off about him. He was shivering. His eyes were frozen in place as he looked at his phone. Was he nervous or something? "Tord?" He jumped slightly. He stuttered.
"O-oh, hey T-Tom..." I looked at him curiously. Something was clearly wrong. I decided to help him. I know we haven't really been that close, but if I'm gonna live with him again I might as well play nice. "Are you alright? You look scared."
He laughed nervously. "Haha, of what, rain?"
"I never said that. So as a matter of fact, yes. You are." Tord gave me a stupid look. "Am not!" I laughed. "Yeah, whatever. Well," I yawned and stretched. I noticed Tord look at me while I stretched, and could've sworn I saw him blush a little. I grinned. "I'm off to bed." I stumbled into my bed. With that, I fell asleep as my face hit the pillow.
Tord's POV
Tom had just flopped into his bed. My face was still hot, after what just happened. I wonder if he caught on that I was blushing like a maniac. I looked at the window to see that the sky had suddenly went black and cloudy. A night storm, my favorite.
I rolled my eyes and climbed into my sleeping bag. The floor was super uncomfortable. I kept shifting around, trying to get some sleep. But the storm had different plans. I could hear the thunder getting closer. I realized I had been up for a while now. Tom was right, I was scared of rain. I looked at my phone. 2 in the morning. And still not one bit of sleep. The thunder caught my attention once again.
I started shivering. I was both cold and afraid, not to mention tired. I looked at Tom's checkerboard bedsheets. They looked warm. Not thinking, I got up and walked over to Tom's bed...
Tom's POV
Rain slapped against the window. Thunder roared very distantly. I opened my eyes. The room flashed for split seconds with light. Followed by booms soon after. I was extremely tired. I looked at the time on my phone. 2:05. I sighed.
For some reason, Tord kept flashing in my mind. I had no idea why. I then remembered how scared he looked when Matt announced the storms arrival. He looked kinda cute when he was scared. I remembered how red he looked when I stretched. I smiled a bit. I closed my eyes again.
But something was out of place. I felt... different. Warm. I thought it was just me and my thoughts, until I realized the warmth was mostly on my side. I rolled over. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the source of the warmth. Tord.
Why the hell is he in my bed? How long was he there? Thoughts swarmed in my head. He was sleeping, by the looks of it. He looked so much happier now than he did earlier. I gently poked him. Moments passed, but then his eyes flew open. He stared at me with horrified eyes.
"I... I'm so sorry... I didn't mean- I mean, uh... I don't-" He stuttered, slowly backing away from the bed. I looked at him. He was shivering again. He then flew into his sleeping bag. Still shivering.
It was silent between the two of us, the only noise being the rain and distant thunder. "So," I snicker, breaking the unholy silence. "I see you're scared of rain." He mumbled, "am not." into his pillow. I smiled. Another series of unholy silence.
"You know, you can come back if you'd like." I saw his head rise. Minutes later, he was all settled in beside me. He was still slightly shivering. I reached under my bed, grabbing Susan. I played a few notes, before softly singing a song.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are grey.
Don't let them know dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.I repeated the lines a few times until I noticed Tord had fallen asleep peacefully, resting his head on my shoulder. I looked at him and smiled.
The storm had blown over a long time ago, I realized with a gasp. I looked at Tord again.
"Well played, commie."
"Well played..."
