Yo readers. Sorry for dealing this so much. So I noticed that some of you have questions related to this book and I found some questions that everyone is curious about. Nonetheless I'll answer all of them and clear some things that you're confused about.
Q1. Did Aaliya and Aarav end up together?
A1. No they didn't end up together. They were not in touch at all for eight years and they end up meeting outside a school in New York where their adopted kids were enrolled. They just meet at Aaliya's place so that their kids could bond. Aarav did indirectly ask her out on a date but that is it. They're just friends as of now and nothing more. Neither are they dating nor are they living together. Just friends.
Q2. Did Aarav ever have feelings for Raima?
A2. Not exactly. Neither did he love her nor did he like her. He hated her presence ever since he met her for the first time but when Aaliya ignored him even when he tried for three months straight, he lost hope and stopped trying. That was when the incident with Raima happened and Raima started giving him her attention. He never liked/loved her but he did like the attention he was receiving after sometime. He was 'sort of happy' with her because she took care of him while Aaliya cut him off.
Q3. Why and how did Aarav change his mind from the Hawaii trip?
A3. I want to remind you all that even when this book was written from a third person's point of view, it mostly talked about Aaliya's feelings. It never really talked about Aarav's feelings until the Hawaii trip. Every time Aarav saw Aaliya break down or shared a good moment with her, he felt his walls breakdown. He wanted to take back the divorce but he couldn't because he was always reminded of Raima's threats. Again, I have never talked much about Aarav's feelings in the book but there were hints about where he could feel his wall crumbling. For example, when the danced in the rain, when Aaliya had her first anxiety attack after hearing about the divorce, when they shared a pizza while going through the old photo album, him feeling jealous towards Brent on Christmas and when Aaliya returned back from Australia. His mind particularly changed after the Hawaii trip because he couldn't stand her emotionally hurting herself anymore because of him. That is the reason he decided to take a stand. Hawaii trip made him realise things.
Q4. How was Aarav protecting Aaliya by hurting her?
A4. As I mentioned in the last chapter, Raima had threatened to hurt Aaliya physically. He was just trying to protect Aaliya by doing as he was asked to do and that was the reason he agreed on giving her a divorce. That way Aaliya wouldn't have had to cross Raima's path ever.
Again, that doesn't justify what Aarav did, nothing really justifies it but then, that's the story.
Q5. Did Aarav's family forgive him for cheating on Aaliya?
A5. No, they never did forgive him for cheating on Aaliya. I never mentioned anywhere that anyone forgave him except Aaliya. They just sympathized with him hearing about him being taken advantage of. They were still upset that he never told anyone about this but that is it. No one forgave him for cheating on Aaliya ever.
Q6. Why didn't Aarav tell Aaliya the truth when she tried so hard to mend the relationship?
A6. Well, doesn't that secret go with Aarav as the book ends? Again, that's something I didn't want to talk about so I didn't ever bring it up in the first place. But if I had to give an explanation to that then it'd be because he was scared of losing her by telling her the truth. Also, he was worried that if Raima came to know that he told Aaliya the truth then she might try to hurt Aaliya.
But again, there was a reason why I didn't talk about this in the book.
Q7. Why was he praising Raima all along when she did nothing but wreck his house?
A7. To save his ass basically? But also because he knew that Aaliya loved him even after all that happened. He wanted her to forget him and move on in life, he wanted her to hate him for everything and so he tried to be an asshole to her most of the time. But half had Aarav known that he wouldn't like her seeing some other guy.
Q8. Why did the epilogue not talk about Aaliya and Aarav's feelings throughout these eight years and when they met?
A8. Again, because I didn't feel like talking about it. I didn't want to talk about how much they still loved each other and stuff. The fact that they still feel for each other and respect and love the other person is quite clear in the end, I believe. They loved and respected each other and that is the reason Aarav never contacted her over the years, they still love each other and that was the reason they were able to talk so easily, that was the reason they were able cherish every moment even after so many things had gone down.
Q9. What inspired you to write this story?
A9. To be honest, I don't know. I was just showering one day and was thinking about my mom's divorce and then the idea just popped. Nothing really 'inspired' me to write this. Just an idea I got that I found a need to write down.
Q10. Why didn't Aaliya give Aarav a second chance?
A10. I'll ask you people (who were secretly shipping Aaliya and Aarav) a question and be true to yourself. Would you have given your partner a second chance had s/he cheated on you and blamed you for a miscarriage? Some of you might have forgiven and some not. To those who wouldn't have forgiven your partner, you have your answer there to why Aaliya didn't give Aarav a second chance. Now to those who still think that she should have given him a second chance, well, I believe that's the way you guys are. You're soft hearted and you believe in second chances. There is nothing wrong with that, that's good but unfortunately my female protagonist isn't like that even though she has been pretty weak throughout the entire book.
I've been cheated once in real life and that wasn't a good feeling, and I also forgave my partner but the same thing happened again. Probably that's the reason that I wanted my female protagonist to be strong and to live alone.
Q11. Why is his family so sensitive towards the fact that he was taken advantage of?
A11. Rape in idea is a big issue, it's everywhere actually. Now, ours is mostly a male dominant society and people will look down at the 'male' who has been raped. People shouldn't do that, true , because the victim is never at fault but that's how the people here are. That was the reason Aarav was afraid to come clean about this and why everyone understood him.
Q12. Why did Aaliya forgive Aarav?
A12. I truly believe that one can't completely move on in life unless they forgive the people. If you hold a grudge, you're just holding yourself back from moving on. Hence, Aaliya forgave Aarav.
Q13. Is there going to a sequel or am I going to publish more books on here?
A13. There is not going to be sequel but if you do have some tips, you can give them in the comment section or PM me. Am I going too publish more books? Yes. For the time being I''m editing this book and might edit my other book over here as well. Once 'The Invincible Angels' is edited, I'll let you know so that you can go read it if you want to.
