Poison

( This is my entry for a story contest from @Antiology, from the book "Short Story Contests"

- And everything is done for today!- I whispered to myself, meanwhile i closed the gate of the roller-coaster and cleaned it,- you really must do this job perfectly. You really MUSTN'T get fired at this one Renee!! You have to pay the rent, and... UGH!!! There you go talking to yourself again!!! Can you have this conversation only in your mind?!

Yeah! So i am a normal girl, living an empty life, alone. I ran away from my family years ago and they didn't seem to care that much about me. So i rent a house and, i have to work in an amusement park to earn some money and pay the house, go to college and most of all, stay alive. 

I love living by my own. No family, no friends, nobody to worry about, nobody except yourself. I must admit that everything in my live is empty. The piggy bank for the college is empty. My house is almost empty. My neighborhood is almost empty. I am empty and it's not worth it to live in this reality. I want to live somewhere else, where everything is easier. Well now let's return to what i was doing.

While i was finishing the last job, I felt someone looking at me. I was sure that i was the last one in the park to close it and maybe i was just scared. But than i remembered that new strange guy, that came at the amusement park and never leaved his tent. He claimed to predict the future, read thoughts and other stupid stuff like this. I turned my head to his tent and i saw the front curtain opened, so yeah he was around the park. Only me and him. All alone. What if he is a creep??

- Hello Renee!- a manly voice said and i jumped in the air like crazy. I saw behind me and it was the exact same strange guy i was thinking about. 

- Well, hello umm...- I said to let him know that i still didn't know his name.

- My name is Emmett!- the guy said to me with a light smirk on his face.

- So you predict the future. right?- I said, and he looked around giving me no answer, than he grabbed me, went near the tent, threw me inside, looked around once again and closed the curtain after he came in.

- W-what are you doing to me?- I screamed scared and i was thinking about what i thought before. I was right. He is a creep!! Is he going to rape me?? What is about to happen???

- You are the girl i have been searching for, for thousand years. And now i can be normal! Finally! I will be free!!- said the strange guy that was around 20 years old self-satisfied.

- Can you explain please, what is going on?- i asked, crying at the same time.

I never saw Emmett that close before and, he seemed to be a perfect 20 years old good-looking boy. He had a white skin and his mysterious look could make every girl fall for him. He ran towards me and bit my neck. 

I understand everything now! He is a vampire. He is turning me into one! But why did he choose me? My life couldn't be more Hell than this!! I didn't want to live this empty life!!! Now this creature that we read and see movies about, that isn't a myth anymore to me, is making me immortal? 

I saw Emmett's skin change as it got a little more darker that that white that made him look like a paper. His fangs that i didn't notice before went away and became normal human teeth. He was changing. He made me a vampire to change himself into a human. But than i am safe!! I can change somebody else than! I don't have to be immortal, and live this empty life till the end! 

But my thoughts got interrupted by an unbearable pain that was stuck in my head and all i could hear was a loud noise. I started screaming as i couldn't stand the noise in my head that was becoming stronger and stronger. Then i felt the hot venom going through my veins. The venom was sailing everywhere through my body. Everything the venom touched was in an unbearable pain, and everything stopped working. Once again all i could do was scream. Emmett saw me with his eyes full of sadness that he made me go through this and than he went away. 

- You Son of a...- i wanted to say but the poison sailed through my blood once again, as it was stuck in my throat.

It felt like someone was melting a big piece of metal, throwing it all inside. It felt like somebody was throwing some bricks in my stomach and in my head. I felt like i had a car crash. and like the car exploded and i was in the middle of the fire. I couldn't handle the pain. It felt like a thousand years passed away. Was it just some seconds, minutes or hours? 

My eyes became black and i couldn't see a thing anymore. I couldn't stop screaming, but suddenly the pain stopped. Just like it went away. Just like the sea calms down after the storm. 

I got up on my feet and i went at a mirror. I saw myself and i didn't change that much. Except that my eyes were completely black, because i didn't still hunt, my skin was white as a paper, and strong as a rock, and i had some fangs grew on my mouth.

" I am a vampire, for real"

That's all i could think. I heard a little sniff from behind the tent and within a blink i ran there. 

- A human...- i whispered and my instinct lead me to drink all his blood. I couldn't help it. In the human's pocket was a letter. I took it:

"Dear Renee,

I am so sorry for putting you in this situation! I have been a vampire for 1500 years and i... All i wanted is a real life. It never mattered to me if i was a vampire and immortal, until i saw you. You were the perfect one! You were exactly the perfect descendant for my strong venom. I'm so sorry for the pain. I know you want to be human again, because you were screaming about that when the venom was turning you in a vampire. The point is you have to wait 100 years to pass the venom into someone else. Believe me! It will come really fast! 

I hope you forgive me Renee!

100 years?! I couldn't stand my life just for another day!! Now i have to live an immortal life with no way to kill yourself for another 100 years. I will find him!

- He won't give me my mortal life back again? Okay than! We will see how much you wished to be mortal Emmett, anyway i need more blood to feed myself!- I smirked.

I won't let Emmett live!!
