Ryo Kurokiba x Reader ~Let Me Forget~

"(Y/N)-chan, he's coming over." Soma whispers as the dark haired boy begins to approach, and you suddenly found your hands very interesting.

You can't help but curse slightly when your chest begins to hurt when he brushes past you as if you were nonexistent. As if you meant nothing to him anymore. Nothing could stop you from breathing out a shaky breath when he's out of sight.

"How long are you going to avoid him, (Y/N)-chan?" Soma sighs, looking at your confused and sad state. "Wasn't he the one who rejected your feelings? You should move on."

"How?" You ask desperately. "We were such close friends...and I messed it all up."

"You didn't mess anything up, okay?" Soma ruffles your hair, a sense of affection to his movements. "He's an idiot if he doesn't see how great you are."

"I confessed to him yesterday." You mumble. "I could've saved myself the embarrassment and the months I spent thinking about him if I had warned myself he would say no. Somewhere inside me...I already knew what his answer would've been."

Soma sighs, glancing up at the dark sky before covering you with his jacket. "Let's get back. There's supposed to be a storm."

You nod, feeling slightly empty inside when you wrap the jacket tighter around yourself. All you really needed was to move on...

The real question is how?

Three weeks. Three weeks of avoiding him. Not even a spared glance was given to the girl who poured her heart out only for him to cut her off midway with a stoic "No. I'm sorry."

It hurt so much.

"(Y/N)-chan...snap out of it!" Fingers prod your forehead as you lift your head to meet the blue eyes of Takumi Aldini, who sighs, shaking his head.

"That's the third time tonight you've gotten lost in space. Wanna talk about it?"

"You know why I'm like this." You mumble. It was a night for hanging out with the boy who immediately clung to your side as a need for support when Ryo left, and you were currently cooking and baking in one of the large provided kitchens of Totsuki, only for your eyes to remain glazed over as he tried to break through to you somehow.

He sighs lightly, turning off the oven. His movements seem shaky, and you arch an eyebrow slightly in question.

"I-I'm going to say this now because I really want you to get better and I...hopefully think this might help."

"What?" Your voice questions. "Takumi, are you-?"

"I love you." He cuts you off, averting his gaze as your eyes widen. "I-I can treat you better than he ever did. If you let me..."

A silence settles over the two of you as you gape at him. Takumi Aldini loved you?

"I don't need an answer right now." He says, slipping the lemon pastries from the oven. You watch as his steady hands create designs across the flaky crust, before handing you the one with the iced heart on it. Your shaky hand accepts it.

"Just think about it...okay?" He wipes his hand with a rag before beginning to leave, only to hesitate and rush back to you before kissing your forehead lightly before making his escape. You place a hand over the spot where his lips had touched, closing your eyes.
