Everything went alright. There might have been a little bit of nervousness from before we got on the stage, but nothing too unusual, after all little nervousness comes with it, doesn't it? Most of my solos were without the biggest mistakes. I got a few loose notes here and there, or my finger didn't quite strum the string properly, but among the other instruments the fans couldn't hear it.
In the first few rows I've noticed a girl which didn't move her eyes off me. I ran along my habits, winking at her, making faces and everything possible in between me playing. Just letting her know I've noticed her, yet I had a feeling that she didn't notice it or thought it was meant for someone else so I just ran to the other side of the stage, away from Tuomi on the far right. I was standing slightly to the left from the babe when the gun went off.
I could see her jerk under the impact of the bullet before her legs gave way underneath her, sending her to the knees. That was when the bodyguards were rushing us to the backstage. That was the last sight I got of her.
"What the hell was that?!" Tuomas was pacing in front of us, who were standing in a semi circle.
"Someone tried to shoot me.." I said with starting realisation, my voice quiet and soft. Then there was the thing of not ending the sentence. I didn't mention the girl, just because I didn't even know what to think of her. That was for the first time that someone saved my life. Still being able to picture her on my eyelids - long black hair, not curly, but straight; smile playing at her lips with her arms high above her head in the air. She was enjoying the music like no one else I had seen.
"Hullo...earth to Emppu." Jukka got me out of my reverie and I glared at him. They knew I hated when they did that.
"What is it?" my voice was a little upset
"Tell us again, what did happen exactly? Or better said, what did you see that happened?" All of the eyes were focused on me, which had me gulp a little. Despite being used to stares this was far different from being on stage. These guys were like family to me and their scrutiny was far, far worse.
"Well.." I sighed. "I jogged from Tuomas to the other side when I heard the gun being fired. I didn't get hit, the bullet must have hit someone in the audience." I decided against telling my friends about her, most likely to avoid the teasing from them and newspapers going crazy over the fact.
"Alright, I think we should get the heck out of here." I heard Sämi say and saw Jukka nodding his head.
"Yeah, let's get out of here." Jukka put his hand on my back and started to push me out. "Come on, I know you are in shock, but we will have a shot at my place or something."
"I'm alright, OK?" I muttered shrugging his hand off my back before taking a step to the side. "Besides I have few things I want to do while we are in Helsinki. You can go on ahead, I'll meet you at your place." I gave him a tight lipped smile and watched them go, while my thoughts were turning around that girl.
"I have to figure out where she is." I told myself before I went on the profound search of the hospitals. Yet it wasn't that difficult, the swarming mass of paparazzi in front of the entrance to Sairaala Siluetti.
Entering the hospital I walked into the affiliated flower shop buying a bouquet of red tulips before approaching the front desk asking about the black haired chick. They told me in which room she is and that she is alive. Until then I haven't realised that there was something pushing down onto my shoulders, but then again. I hoped that she made it through, I mean who would have wanted a fan getting killed on their concert, and in their behalf?
Making my way to the room I knocked gently, opening the door and I had to smirk when I noticed the doctor had almost choked. She wasn't just as startled as he was but at least she could hold her composure, that was until I let out a soft 'Hei'. At that time the blush rose to her cheeks and she avoided my sight.
"I just came here to thank you for saving my life." I said softly and moved my arm from behind my back to reveal the bouquet I got for her. Her eyes sparkled as they landed on it and it warmed my heart. Watching her hastily put everything she was holding onto the bed I frowned as I noticed a small slip float down to the floor. While she was looking at the flowers I quickly grabbed it reading what was on it. She snatched it out from my hand, but she wasn't quick enough and the offer to take her to Kittee slipped past my lips without me even thinking about it.
* TIME SKIP filled with get to know chit-chat *
I pulled up in front of the empty house, it was where the old Torpainen had lived few years ago. Smiling softly at her I motioned toward the house before winking at her. "You got my number, if you need anything just call me." I murmured and helped her off. That was when I heard the sound of the engine coming further down the street. Cursing I rushed back to my bike and putting the helmet on. I kicked the motor into life before driving off. I could see one of the journalist knocking on her door while the other one looked after me, but luckily he didn't recognise me. I was considering the option of going home with different route than usual, but in the end I decided against it. Even against going home. Instead I made my way to Jukka's.
(A/N: Yay! Another part, finally. It's pain to translate, mostly because it's not entirely the same as it was in Slovak. Changing it up a bit meant to make their first meeting different, but from now on it should be much easier. :) Lemme know what you think of this and if I should continue (mots probs I'll continue, because of my friend who wants to read it..so yeah). Stay tuned for the next part!)
