Chapter twenty-three

The kids have had a blast for the past few days. Their auntie Sarah just adores them.

She was really good at tiring them out each night.

*Few Days Later*

~Liam's POV~

New Years Eve is in three days.

We arrived at my parents house yesterday, and mum and dad are in love with the kids.

Mum demanded Dani and I go out tonight, and so we are.

I decided to take her ice skating; even though I have no idea how.

"C'mon, Li! Don't be afraid!" Dani laughed as she skated around the rink.

People were laughing at me, because I could barely move in my skates.

"If you can at least walk to me, I'll help you. If you can't, you're on your own, babe." She smiled.

I really needed help.

So I tried my best to walk over to her.

The very first step I tried to take, I slipped and fell.

She was laughing like crazy.

I could still see how beautiful she looked from how far away she was.

Her nose scrunched up when she laughed, the crinkles by her eyes, the snow falling silently onto her beanie and her curly, curly hair. Her cheeks all red from the cold.

She skated over to me and reached out her hand while still laughing.

I grabbed ahold of it, but as soon as I was back on my feet, I was straight back on my bum.

Danielle fell over in laughter, making me smile just a tad.

"Glad to see you're enjoying this," I said as I helped myself up.

She was laying on her back, holding her stomach as she laughed; tears falling out of her eyes.

"I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean to, it's just-" laughter took over her again.

I smiled and helped her up, and she helped me over to the Warming House. We both shivered like crazy, even when we were inside.

"It's freezing out there!" I said as I took my scarf off and waddled to the heater.

"Hey, mate, I saw that fall of yours out there. Made my night!" An older man said.

Dani bursted out laughing again, me blushing.

"Well, I'm glad I made you're night." I smiled.

I put my hands in front of the heater to try and warm them up.

Dani already had her skates off and came over to me.

"Would you mind giving me a hand?" I asked politely.

She started clapping with a smile.

I chuckled. "Not that kind of hand," I smiled. She giggled and nodded, getting down on her knees to take my skates off.

"I'm sorry we couldn't be out there longer. It's freezing out, and I can't feel my bum now." I said.

"It's totally fine, baby. I had enough fun watching you try to move out there. You made my night, too." She smiled as she took my skates off.

The older man, and a few other people had left the Warming House, leaving the two of us.

"What do you say... We go get a few drinks?" Dani asked from behind me as she snaked her cold arms around my waist.

I smiled. "Why so eager for a drink, babe?" I asked.

"Well, I haven't really had any alcohol or really anything related to that since Rosie came into the picture." She said. I nodded.

"Yeah, we can do that.." I smirked.

I put my tennis shoes back on and we walked out hand in hand towards the car.

~Karen's POV~ (Liam's mum)

These two kids are the cutest things. Geoff and I are cracking up a storm at how hilarious they are!

"Oh, you two are making me laugh so hard! Why don't we have a snack before bed, yeah?" I asked.

They agreed happily and the four of us walked into the kitchen.

"What would you like to eat?" I asked.

"I want a banana!" Rosie cheered.

"Me too!" Dylan smiled.

"Your daddy has taught you to eat right, yeah?" I asked with a smile. They were silent after that.

Did they not call Liam daddy?

"Here you go, kids." I said as I handed them each a half of a banana.

Once they finished eating, Geoff put in a kiddie movie that Liam and his older sisters used to watch as little children.

Geoff and I figured Liam and Danielle would be out for a while.

*2 hours later*

~Danielle's POV~

Liam and I have a few drinks in our systems, and are dancing on the dance floor.

Liam twirled me around, making me laugh. He was such a fun lad.

I laughed when he dipped me,

and when he pulled me back up an then kissed me.

"You know I love you, right?" He asked with a smile in his deep raspy voice.

"Show me," I whispered in his ear.

It's been so long since I've had that much fun with Liam.

There was no point in even thinking about a condom, because I can't get pregnant anyways.

Once we were dressed again, we danced for a little bit longer, and then decided to go home.

We ran out to the car fast, because it was so cold outside.

We stopped at a coffee shop that was still open and went inside to get a coffee.

It felt good, the feeling of hot coffee in my stomach.

After we chatted for a bit, we decided to head back to Liam's parents' house; for real this time.

When we pulled up in the driveway, the living room light was on. We quickly got out of the car and went inside, the warmness hitting my face once again.

Liam's mum was sitting in the living room knitting something she'd just started.

"You're home late," Karen smiled.

We nodded as we took out jackets off and hung them up.

"Did you guys have fun?" She asked as she put her knitting down.

"Yeah, he took me ice skating and it was absolutely hilarious seeing him fall so many times!" I laughed quietly, considering the kids were sleeping in the other room.

She chuckled along with Liam as we sat down.

"Mum, you look tired. Why don't we talk about it in the morning, yeah?" Liam asked with a warm smile.

"Alright, dear. I just stayed awake so I could make sure you two got home safely. Goodnight, Liam; Goodnight, Danielle." She smiled before kissing our cheeks before heading off to her room.

"We should probably get to bed, too. It's after 3:00," Liam said as he yawned. I nodded and we stood up and walked to the guest room and changed into warm pajamas before getting into bed and falling right asleep.
