"Mom thank you for watching him today." I told my mom as I dropped off my son so I could go to work. As I'm driving I think about everything that has happened within the year. I have a 1 year old. He is my pride and joy. I didn't know I was pregnant until I was 2 months into my pregnancy. It was only one guy I had sex with and it was the guy from my graduation night. I wish I could of found him or anything I wanted him to know he has a kid. Regardless of Jayden having a father in his life, he is well taken care of. Since I graduated nursing school I have been really working hard. I got a job at a hospital and I love it. I love helping people.
"Hey girl", Liyah said as I walked in the back room.
"Hey my love", I said replying. Today me and her are working the same shift. We put away our purses and head to the desk to see what patients we have.
"How's my baby Jayden?" She asked.
"He good, he over at moms." I replied. Since I found out I was pregnant I moved out of the apartment and moved into another 2 bedroom apartment closer to the hospital.
"Well after our shift, I'm coming over." She said. She always at my new place unless she's with her boyfriend. I grabbed the charts and went to check on patients.
"Hi Mrs. Williams, how are you?" I asked talking to one of my favorite patients.
"Hey Nurse Kim, I'm good baby, how about you?", she responded.
"You know the usually working and taking care of my baby", I said.
"Aw you have to let me see him one day", she says.
"I will bring him in one day, when you have to come back." I told her. Mrs. Williams is one of my favorite patients, I see her when she comes in for her check ups. After I said my goodbye to her I left and went to check on my other patients. After work I went and picked up Jayden and then went to my house to meet Liyah. Once I got to the house I decided to make chicken, broccoli, and shrimp Alfredo pasta. While I was cooking Liyah was in the living room playing with Jayden and watching tv.
"Food done, now bring me my baby," I yelled to Liyah from the kitchen.
"Here we come, I'm starving", she said. She brought him in and put him in his high chair and grabbed her a plate and piled it up with food.
I gave my baby his cup then went and made me a plate.
"I still can't believe I'm a mom at times." I told her.
"Yeah I know, but you're a great mom." She said comforting me,
"You right all by myself." I said. After that we start talking about going out. It's been such a long time since I been out. Especially after I had Jayden, I never went out. When we were done I put Jayden to sleep and we went to balcony to smoke. Sometimes I just be needing to smoke. Liyah decided to stay over. Me and her had grabbed snacks from the kitchen and we were now laying down watching a movie. After so long I went and checked on Jayden. He was sleeping peacefully. I just hope one day he gets the chance to have a father in his life.
The next day I woke up to music playing and the smell of breakfast. I get up and see Liyah dancing and cooking. I say good morning to her then go check on my baby. Jayden was in his room watching cartoons. I gave my baby a kiss and brought him to the kitchen. I fed him his baby food while I ate breakfast. After breakfast Liyah left. I decided to spend the day with my baby. I got me and my baby dressed then went to go see my mom.
"Mommmmm open the door", I said standing outside my moms door.
"Here I come girl, quit all that yelling." She said yelling back. Once she opened the door I gave her a hug then she grabbed Jayden.
"I missed my poopoo", she said kissing all over my baby.
"Ma you just had him", I said.
"So what I be missing my fat man", she responded.
"Sure, but we about to go." I told her.
"Why you leaving so soon?" She asked.
"I have to go see my uncle." I told her.
"I guess, it's ok I'm going to see yo daddy today anyways." She told me. Now that I think about it she is kind of dressed up. She has been holding my daddy down for 14 years he get out next year.
"Ok well finish getting ready we about to go. I love you." I told her kissing her cheek.
I grabbed Jayden then strapped him in so we could go to my Uncle Jay house. Once we pulled up I called him and told him I was outside. I grabbed Jayden out the back and when I was walking up Uncle Jay opened the door.
"Hey baby girl", he said greeting me.
"Hey Unc", I responded. He grabbed Jayden from me and we walked in the house.
"How you been?" He asked.
"I've been good, just been working hard for my baby." I responded.
"Well if you ever need me to watch him, let me know." He told me.
"Well since you said that, can you watch him for me I work tomorrow?" I said giving him my cutest face.
"I got him, just know a couple guys from the main trap gone be here and we gone be discussing business." He informed me.
"That's fine as long as my baby is out of harms way." I told him.
