"Keep going." I told Starr
"Where's Nicki?" She asked
"She went to the restroom she'll be back." She nodded and continued to lead the line
Waking into the classroom, they all sat down at their own tables. I looked around seeing Starr and Lani separated from the other Girls.
I looked up hearing the door close. I smiled seeing Nicki walk in.
She came and sat by me.
"Look." I pointed making her look at the kids
"Oh gosh." She sighed
"Little kids drama.. The worst." She said and I agreed
"Hey!" They looked up
"Let me talk to y'all." She said as they walked over
"Huh?" They both said
"What's going on with y'all and the other girl?"
"They're mean." Lani said
"Mean how?" I asked
"They told all the boys here that we liked them." Starr said crossing her arms
"And my mama said i can't have a boyfriend so I don't need no snotting nosed kid running after me." She flipped her curly hair over her shoulder
"I know that's right." Lani high fived her
"Well, I understand that part." Nicki
Said
"Ayo!" I yelled across the room getting everyone attention
"Come here." They walked over leaving the boys st the table
"What's the situation with y'all?" I asked seeing if Starr and Lani was telling us the truth
"Um, well these are the lame two." Casey pointed between Lani and starr.
"I think They are pretty cool." Nicki told them
"Y'all just bullies, but it's cool cause I rather be Lame than to be a child waiting for Fame. Wanting to be seen by boys every second." Lani said rolling her eyes
"So it's okay to wanna be seen by boys. We're cute. They like us." Dasia said
"Remember we are still kids boo." Starr blew them a kiss and walked away with Lani
The girls all went back to there seats, giving Lani and Starr mugs. They acted as if they didn't see them and continued to draw.
"In elementary school, I'd hang with them." I told Nicki and she giggled
"Same. But we need to end this little beef." She said and I nodded "but.. Let's let it go on a bit longer, I like Starr and Lani's smart comments."
We laughed and did our handshake we made up when we met.
"Are we going outside today?" Ryan asked
"Yeah, wanna go right now?" They all nodded
"Line up at the back door." They ran to the back door
"This is exactly how preschool was." Nicki giggled "I wonder how'd I be as a teacher."
"I know I'll be mean, but the cool teacher who let everything slide."
"I believe you." We walked out the door and into the playground.
We counted heads before they went to play. Treyvon, Andre, Justin,Ryan, Casey, Dasia,Starr and Lani... Check✔
Nicki and I went to sit in the shade at the picnic table thingy. We watched as they all played.
"So.. Best friend."
"Yes.. Best friend?" Nicki copied my sitting stance
"Wassup? What's your reason for not face timing me last night?" I asked her
"Um, I fell asleep. Sorry Meeky."
"Mhmm.." I stared at her not looking away
"Stop it meek." She giggled looking away "creep." I heard her say
"I'm a creep?"I asked tickling her She laughed harder
She got lose and ran onto play set.
"Get back here Minnie." She looked back laughing and climbed up the rock climbing wall that lead to the top of the play set.
"Your small self can fit anywhere." I shook my head

"Ayo Minnie." I called out
"Wass poppin?" She peeked her head out her bathroom door
"Hurry yo slow self up. I'm bored as freak out here." I tossed the ball into the air a couple times
"Don't rush me Big head. Just for talking trash Ima take longer to get dressed." She stuck her tongue out and closed the door
I threw the ball into the pink Bedazzled basketball basket on her closet door.
"I wish you might."
Once Nicki got done with her long bathroom time. We went into the living room and we were now talking to Mama Carol.
"Who that?" I asked once Nicki answered her ringing phone
"Na." She said
"Who that?" I heard Na say on the other end of the phone
"Meek." Nicki answered
"Oh, I should've know, his nosey self."
"Hey Na baby." Nicki's mom said
"Heyyy Mama." Na said as Mama carol walked out the room
"Minnie." I called her but she was talking to Na
"Nicki I was talking to you, tell her you'll call her ugly self back." I complained
"Ugh, Ima call you back Na."
"Girl forget his jealous behind." Na said making Nicki giggle "but bye girl." Nicki hung up
"Really rihmeek?" She said and I wrapped my arm around her
"Yep." I said plainly and we laid back
