[Not expecting either of these chapters to do numbers.. but here ya go]
- enjoy...
Meek stood there, sighing contentedly.
"Aw, shit..." he breathed out. He stood there shocked and appeared at a loss for words.
Meek's silence had Nicki's heart pounding against her chest. She was so nervous, she thought maybe she'd throw up again.
He finally spoke. "... About time!"
Meek picked Nicki up and spun her. "Wait what?.." Nicki nervously giggled.
Meek let her down gently to her feet. "Why you looking more shocked than me?"
"That wasn't the reaction I was expecting, that's all."
"What did you expect? This some good news, Nic."
"I know. I kinda thought you'd be mad at me." She shrugged softly.
"Mad at you for what?"
"Well not mad at me, just at the timing. I was thinking you'd be upset that it happened so fast, like the both of our careers are about to take off- and a baby might be.." She trailed off.
"Too much?" He questioningly finished her sentence. She sighed only to nod after.
"Nawl, Nic." He walked reached above the toilet to hand her a washcloth.
"That's just another reason for us to thrive. You know work harder"
She took the washrag from him and ran it under the running faucet.
"You told someone already?" He had alot of questions he wanted to bombard her with but instead he asked one at a time.
She nodded. "Yeah. Only my mom. And she gave me a whole lecture on being a parent."
Nicki squeezed away the extra water and took the damped cloth and wiped around her mouth unaware of the nervous expression Meek wore upon his face.
"What she say?" after Nicki finished, Meek took away the rag and Nicki went to grab her blue toothbrush next to Sherika's red one.
"Nothing really. Y'know the normal speech. How she hoped we knew what responsibilities we would have and how we had to not only physically prepare but also mentally."
"You wasn't scared to tell her?"
"I was so scared but at the end she said she thought we were responsible enough to be raising a kid together."
Over her shoulder Nicki watched him sigh. He was relieved.
"When did you find out, and why you ain't tell me, Nic?" Questioned Meek and Nicki began brushing her teeth.
"A day after we talked on the porch that day and, well, I dunno. I was scared, Meek. You and I weren't on talking terms. I thought maybe if I came to you about it, you'd just brush me off."
Meek leaned against the bathroom wall and watched Nicki through the mirror.
"I love you, Nika, and ion want you to ever think you can't tell me nothing. Especially something this big."
Nicki tapped the sink with her toothbrush removing the excess water.
"You hear me?" Nicki caught eye contact with him and nodded. She abstained a tear falling down her face and Meek noticed that.
"Don't go getting all mushy on me now, Minnie." Meek chuckled making her giggle.
Meek knew exactly what he was getting himself into, in fact, sometimes he plotted out having a family with Nicki. He knew all of his time had to be devoted into this little person and he quite frankly was ready for it.
After the little talk and Nicki freshening up, Meek thought it was the perfect time to joke around.
"I kinda did it on purpose."
"Did what?" Nicki curiously looked at him.
"Ain't pull out." Nicki gasped before playfully punching Meek in his arm. "I hate you."
He laughed grabbing her up by the waist. "Don't act like you ain't like that shit." He bit his bottom lip while staring down at her with low eyes.
"I love you." he kissed her forehead. Nicki emitted a short breath before replying with "I love you too, Rihmeek."
"Rihmeek," I mimic her little voice and she lightly giggled.
-
"Why you don't like elevators again?"
"I don't know." Nicki took a bite of her green apple. "Elevators have it's ups and downs.."
She glanced over at Meek waiting for him to get the joke.
He smacked his teeth. "You corny, yo."
Nicki threw her head back in laughter. Across the table Meek smirked at her cuteness.
"That boy done got his lady back and don't know how to act." Nicki look up to see Omelly smirking at her and Meek.
She was expecting Meek to shut his cousin down with a smart remark but instead he just grinned.
"Got'em blushing like a lil girl. That's that nic effect, huh?"
"You know me." Nicki popped her imaginary collar.
"Shut'cho cocky ass up." Meek told her.
Omelly was meeting the two of them at their college' cafeteria for lunch.
After minutes of unmindful conversation, they agreed on meeting up again after they've finished their last few classes."Walk Nicki to her class for me, O." Meek stood from the table, pocketing his phone.
"Nigga why yo nut ass can't do it? C'mon sis." Omelly picked up his set of house keys from the lunch table.
"Man just do what I said. You make the easiest things hard."
"Yeah, whatever. you need to get ta class, you need every minute of that lesson, Dumbass."
While they went back and forth Meek pulled Nicki in for a hug. "Text me if you need anything, alright?" She nodded before pulling away. "Ima hit you up after class."
"I know you not talking, bruh, I'm surprised you even got in this college'cause boy you 'bout retarded." Meek laughed and began walking backwards.
"Bye, dude."
