Meek's POV
Only Two weeks 'til college.
I definitely need to talk to Onika.
I grabbed my keys before running out the door. I walked next door to Nicki's house and rung the doorbell.
She came to the door with a confused expression. "Why you looking confused?" I asked her.
"Because, you just came to the door breathing hard... What's up?" She asked looking behind me.
"Wanna take a ride with me?" I asked her. I really was hoping she'd say yes.
"Umm... meek... I'm still packing and I-..."
"Come on, Ma. Listen, when we get back later on tonight... I'll help you pack." I held her by her waist and she sighed.
"Ugh. I guess, Meek. Let me put on my shoes." She said, starting to walk off.
"Put on a jacket too, Nic! It's cold out here!" I yelled through the house before she closed the door in my face.
I rubbed my hands together and released a heavy sigh of relief. I ran down the porch steps before going back to my house. There, I unlocked the car door and before I did anything else, I turned on the heat. I pulled out of the driveway and pulled up in front of Nicki's house.
"Come on, slow child!" I yelled through the window of the car. She shot me a bird before opening the passenger side door.
"Suck my dick." She said and I looked at her. "Drive and stop looking at me, dickhead." She snapped.
"Ayo. Get out." I said to her and pointed to the door.
Before she opened the door, I hit the lock button, she smacked her teeth and rolled her eyes. She unlocked it and pulled the handle but that did nothing.
"It's on childlock, dipshit." I told her before pulling off. "Put yo damn seatbelt on."
"I don't like you." She crossed her arms. "Where are we going anyways?"
"Can you just sit back? You acting like ima stranger or some shit." I glanced over at her.
"Shush and drive." I reached over and rest my hand on her lap. She looked at me with squinted eyes. I only left it there, ignoring her death stare.
"Why'd you bring me here, Robert?" Nicki stood with her hands on her hips.
"Ooohh, first names?" I asked, offended and she giggled.
"No, seriously." She said and I walked over to her.
The sun went down like a couple of minutes ago and it was dark enough for the stars to be out. Nicki stood in front of me with her arms now crossed. She tilted her head and I could make out her pressing her lips together. I positioned her so that I could pick her up. I could feel her trying to put all her weight down but that barley did anything. I picked her up and sat her on the warm car hood. She released a sigh of defeat and I chuckled. Next, I hopped on the car and sat next to her.
"I just want to talk to you... like old times." I said honestly.
"Like old times." She repeated before pausing, momentarily. "Mhmm, I guess." She laid back on the car and crossed her legs at the ankle.
"You got something you wanna talk to me about?" I suggested, laying back on my folded arms.
"Actually yes, I do." She got more comfortable and stared up at the few noticeable stars.
