Hayley grinned and looked around. It was her first day at the restaurant, but she couldn't get the encounter with Jessica off of her mind. They both had the same goal, to find Jack Day. Hayley and Jessica had exchanged numbers in case either of them got a lead on Jack. Trying to clear her mind, Hayley walked into the restaurant happily.
"Good morning! It is such a fine day!" she chirped, grinning at everyone she passed who in turn either scowled or returned the pure gesture.
"Hayley! Please go to the back and get your apron on. Due to your experience, I think you'll do just fine." The cashier reassured, and Hayley nodded vigorously. She hopped along to the back, and tied the apron round her waist, humming.

Soon, she was running around the place with plates of amazing food. As the hours ticked by, there was no sign of Jack Day and no communication from Jessica. Sighing, Hayley sat at one of the free tables. Her alertness peaked when she saw someone eating a chocolate cake whilst swiping all different ways on their phone. "That smells so good.." she mumbled wistfully as she smelt the waft of their delicious chocolate cake come her way from the table. "Shame I can't have it." she pouted to herself. Suddenly having an idea, she ran up to Mairi at the desk.
"Hey, hey... Mairi, do we get to eat some of the food?" Hayley asked the cashier, reading her name off of the badge she was given.
Mairi chuckled. "No, silly. We do get a fifteen percent discount however, and some amazing tips." she grinned cheerily.
Hayley looked sad for a moment, then smiled. "Guess I'll just have to use my charm to get the money then!" she joked and winked to Mairi's amusement.

"It's almost closing time. Since you worked so hard today, I'll let you leave ten minutes early! Have a good one, partner." Mairi smiled, while briefly checking the time. "Quick! Go! I hear the boss coming, and you know what he's like!" she whispered hurriedly, and ushered her out with her hands. Hayley bit her lip.
"Uh- Mairi- Wait! the apron!" she whisper-yelled and quickly untied it and gave it to Mairi. "Are you sure?" she asked, still whispering.
"Yes! Now go- Hey boss!" she was saying, and quickly covered up Hayley to let her leave. Hayley shot her a subtle grin before hastily leaving. She accidentally bumped into a young, blonde haired man.
