Everett had been chasing Olivia for two months now.

She really disliked it. He always stared at her with a grin on his face. He'd bring her flowers all the time, which he picked just in the woods nearby. He'd write her poems and even sings songs. She found it quite sweet, but she knew it wasn't the real him doing these things. Nothing ever seems to be real anymore.

Everett is the same age as her. He has a dark chocolate coloured hair. And pale blue eyes that kind of reminded her of the sky. He had olive skin. It wasn't his natural skin colour but he went under the sun so much.

He was pure mortal. He knew nothing of what blood ran her veins. That was the worst part, he wouldn't understand if she told him the truth.

She tried her best to stay away from him, and generally — everybody else. She didn't want to hurt the same way she didn't want this kind of lifestyle. He was under a spell, even she cannot explain. She cursed the cupids, she even cursed herself. She didn't know what to believe and who to believe even.

She didn't fall for him though.

She knew what kind of effect will happen to her if she does. She was sure it wasn't real, she knew she'd just end up hurt

But eventually, she told him. She felt like she had to.

He had this look of shock spread across his face. His lips parted, gaped. But she ran right after she spit out the words, she didn't want to say. She ran as fast as she could. She didn't want to hear what he was going to say — if he had any at all. And she didn't want anything to happen afterwards.

Everett, a mortal, was even more confused. The feelings he thought he had, weren't even real. She pitied him. He was now partly involved in her messed up life. This was probably why the mortal didn't chase after her.
