It's been a couple days. I won't go to school until most things are unpacked from the move.

I wasn't very excited to have to go to a new school. I didn't know what the people there are like, they could be like the last school for all I know. I definitely wasn't looking forward to it.

My parents seem to have made friends with the neighbors... whenever Cody was over we were pretty much forced to hang out with eachother. It was awkward all the time. All we would do would sit there in silence. Friendship was going no where.

One time me and Cody had a decent conversation until I ruined it halfway with how awkward I was and we ended up not finishing the conversation. What the hell is wrong with me? I'm really that bad at my social skills?

I woke up to an alarm clock next to my bed ringing in my ears. I groaned still wanting to sleep. Oh yea... school.. I remembered this was the 'big' day.

"Fuck you." I leaned over frustrated with the alarm clock even though I was the one that set it. I slid my fingers along it searching for the button. When I finally found it I pressed down on the button relieved the sound was gone.

I saw the sliding glass door having light shine directly in my face making me squint. It had no curtains on it yet, still fueling the paranoia. I frowned seeing it there still across the room from my bed.

I slipped out of the covers and I stood up feeling the cold floor beneath me. Oscar was still sleeping on the other side of the bed, his snoring made me laugh quietly.

I walked over to the closet getting a shirt and then I walked back to the drawer to get pants. I quickly changed knowing I don't have much time.

"Cory!" I heard my Dad yell angrily and I rolled my eyes. "Hold on I'm almost dressed!" I yelled back not hearing any response. I sighed and went back to getting dressed.

After a minute of getting completely dressed I walked out to meet my Mom and Dad. They were sitting there eating breakfast. I snuck to the table because I didn't know if they could tell I was there or not. They were both watching the news.

A plate of bacon and pancakes lay there in front of my and I smiled. I took a bite happily and that quickly changed when I looked up feeling someone's eyes on me... it was Dad, he was sitting there glaring at me from across the table.

I was going to talk but I hesitated. I looked back down and I finished the rest of my food quickly.

"The school is in walking distance.." I heard Dad start to talk. I nodded but I didn't look up.

"It would help if you listened." I quickly looked up hearing him say that. I nodded and bowed my head apoligizing. When I looked back up he was staring at me in disgust a little.

He gave me the directions to school and I nodded listening to him speak the whole time. Sometimes he would stop making sure I was listening and that made the conversation even more uncomfortable.

After I finished my breakfast and he finished talking I got up and walked back to my room to get my bookbag and shoes. I quickly put those on and walks over to Oscar.

"Bye Oscar." I put my forehead to his and I pet his belly. I back away and he barks and sits up wagging his tail. I quickly leave the room and walk to the front door.

"Bye.." I say almost expecting an answer from Mom or Dad but it doesn't come. I slowly nod my head and leave.

I walk down the path way and then into the driveway until I reach the sidewalk. Listening to Dad's instructions I start to walk down the sidewalk towards the school.
