Chapter Four: Break In

(Sammy)

"Find anything?" I asked Dean as he walked back up to me.

"Besides that girl from last night making out with her boyfriend." He rolled his eyes.

"That girl, Danni?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Yeah and that boy Issac."

"The one that found the body?" He sighed and rolled his eyes.

"No, the boy that planted the body. Yes, the boy that found the body." He said sarcastically before freezing.

"Dean, Issac didn't kill that boy."

"How do you know?" He opened the door to the impala and looked at me like he knew he was right. But, I have a feeling that he's wrong.

"I followed Danni last night while you were at the bar. She was with the boy until it started to rain then he ended up at the McCall house."

"Taking every possibility and following it. Good job, Sammy."

He smiled and got in. I rolled my eyes and opened the passenger door and followed his actions.

"I wanna follow this girl more, where does she live?" He pulled out of the school parking lot.

"At a loft with two other people." He sighed.

"I'll draw them out, but we need the girl to stay." He said just as I watched the two I was talking about get in a vehicle and drive away.

"Or watch them leave on their own." I pointed and Dean looked a little shocked.

"It's never this easy. Never." I smiled and got out.

"Do what you need to do, I'll keep my eye on them." He got out, grabbing is gun and walking up to the door.

We had stopped and got changed into our normal clothes, he was about to go crazy in his monkey suit. I watched him sneak up the steps before I drove off to catch up to the other two.

(Danni)

I was sitting in the living room, video chatting with Isaac. Derek had left with Cora a few minutes ago. I didn't know how I liked being alone during a time like this.

"Can we talk about what happened today at school." He shyly smiled and scratched the back of his neck.

"Sorry about that, I needed a diversion." I smiled and moved a piece of hair behind my ear.

"Don't be sorry, it's fine. Besides I wouldn't mind it happening more often." I blushed looking down.

"That's a good thing to know." I looked up to see him smiling.

"Isaac." I began to tell him how I really feel, when the alarm started to go off. I quickly ran over to turn it off.

"Danni?" Issac asked scared before I looked down at my phone.

"Someone's here." I whispered running up the stairs to my room.

I through my phone on the bed as I went to grab the crossbow Allison gave me from under my bed.

"Danni, what are you doing?" He asked worried.

"Shh. I don't know if they can hear me." That's when the lie went dead. "Issac?" I grabbed my phone to see be had hung up. "What the crap?"

That's when the door to the living room opened and a pair of foot steps walked in. But, only one. I grabbed the small gun Chirs had given to me out of my dresser and slowly started to make my way to the stairs.

"Nice alarm system." It was the man with the short hair. "You probably figured out that I wasn't who I said I was. Saw the look in your eyes." I placed my gun on a near by table. "So I'll just tell you who I really am. My name's Dean Winchester, the nerd with long hair is my brother Sam. We're hunters. We kill anything that goes bump in the night. Now, we heard you talking at the dinner. What'd you mean when you said you weren't like the others?" I stayed quite. "Aww, I know your up stairs. I know you can hear me. So how about this, you know my name. What's yours?"

"Danni with an I." I said and walked to the edge of the stairs. He looked up.

"You wanna come down and talk?" I shook my head. "Okay. You can stay up there. I can talk down here." He sat on the bottom step, but I stayed hidden in the doorway.

"What do you want? Derek's not here."

"I just want to talk, and don't worry about Derek. He's not the one I want to talk to." He held a gun in his hand. "It's a nice place you got here. I bet you childhood home was more comfy than this. What happened, did you move?"

"My home burnt down." I said just above a whisper.

"How? House fire? Electronically?" He looked up at me.

"People like you! Your kind killed humans! We hand normal people in the house that day the hunters came a burned it!" I raised my voice.

"We are trying to protect people against your kind!" He stood up.

"My kind? I'm human! I'm a human who watched her family burn to death! I'm a human who listened to the screams until they were no more!"

"Then they live by a different code!"

That's when the alarm started to go off and he took his gun and fired at it. I heard a howl before Dean's head turned to look at me.

"You're family isn't the only ones in this town are they?"

"The Hales' are the most know."

The door started to open and he took off running up the stairs. I tried to turn and run to get my gun but I was grabbed and pulled to his chest.

"I'm not gonna hurt you, I just need a way out where I don't die." He whispered to me.

"Danni?" I heard Issac call and Dean slowly walked to the doorway, pushing me with him. "Let her go." He growled.

"I'll let her go as long as you promise to let me go."

"Listen to him Issac." Dean looked at me from the corner of his eye.

He took a step back and Dean slowly walked down the stairs. Once at the bottom he let go of me and hurried out of the room. I ran up to Issac and hid my face in his chest.

"Did he hurt you?" He held me close. I shook my head and he kissed the top of it. "I'm sorry I wasn't here to protect you."
