Phan chapter 3

Phil

I woke up to a loud scream coming from the lounge and me and Dan bolted in there to find Ashlen on the floor having a metal breakdown. She was crying and scratching her arms till blood flowed from them. Me and Dan held her upright and cradled her. I stroked her hair in a awkward attempt to calm her and Dan told her she was ok and held her hand so she couldn't scratch her arms up anymore. After about ten minutes she started to calm down and her breathing regulated. After what seemed like forever we all fell asleep huddled on the floor there leaning agains the couch.

When I woke up Ashlen was wide awake an looked like she hasn't sleep for more than a couple hours. Her eyes were red with big droops below them and she looked weak and sick.

"Ashlen, have you ate recently?"

"Look I really need to be going hi have to go job hunting today" she said trying to get up without waking up Dan. Dan jerked awake and asked where Ashlen was going.

"I've gotta go home as pack and go job hunting today." She said fast enough I could hardly tell where she added in the packing inference.

"Where are you going? I think some vacation Time will be good for you." Dan responded.

"I- uh- anyway I gotta go." She said before running into the bathroom and coming out moments later dressed in her now dry clothes.

"Are you sure you can't stay agian? I don't want you to end up on another park bench alone tonight." I asked Ashlen.

"Yes. I will be fine." She said unconvincingly and bolted out the door.

Ashlen

I ran home and packed the last of my things. All I had was three boxes. One of clothes, one of random things and one with my bed spread, school books, camera and laptop. That's all I had. But at the moment that was too much. I didnt have anywhere to keep this stuff. I didn't even have a car. I had just walked and used the subway ever since I'd gotten to London. I couldn't afford a car and anyways I would probley end up crashing cause I was so used to driving on the wrong side of the road (back In America). I packed my three boxes down stairs and checked out of the ratty flat for the last time. Let me get this strait. I hardly ever ask favors. As in from anyone. Ever. I learned to cook at the age of four so I didn't have to ask my parents to cook for me, I did all the house shopping, I didn't even ask my parents to help me pay for college in London, despite the fact I couldn't pay for it on my own even with the countless scholarships. But this time I absolutely had to ask to stay somewhere.

When Dan opened the door he looked confused and kinda suspicious as to whether this had all been an act.

"I'm really really sorry but I really really need somewhere to stay. I promise I will be gone by tomorrow I just have to find a cheaper apartment today and a new job. I'm gonna drop my classes too so I can use the money for somewhere to stay." I blurted out before I could think a second thought.

By this time Phil had come behind him and heard my plead.

"Uh. Ok. Do you need help packing stuff in?" Dan asked although I could see he was doubtful that I would be out by tomorrow.

" no this is it." I responded.
