"Hello, Mr. Ellis? My name is Walter Thompson and I am investigating a case in this town. I am sorry to tell you that we found your wife, Mrs. Ellis dead at the chapel. I am so sorry."
"What?... My wife? My Betty, no! You're mistaken! It can't be my Betty, my Betty was home yesterday. She went to pray because her mother just passed away, this is impossible. No! My Betty!"
"I'm sorry sir, but we're not mistaken. We've ran test and it's positive that the woman we found at the chapel was indeed Betty Ellis."
"Show me her."
"Sir... I don't think that.."
"Show me!"
"Mr. Ellis.."
"Mr. Thompson, I know you're only doing your job but please let me see my wife."
"Follow me sir."
Agent Thompson took Mr. Ellis morgue to see his wife. As much as agent Thompson didn't want to open the big grey door to that room full of nothing but silence he knew he needed to. Not because it was the law but because Mr. Ellis really needed to see his wife, one last time. Once those doors opened agent Thompson was hit with the smell of death, he didn't know how to describe it; it just made him sick to his stomach. "Okay Mr. Ellis,
follow me, this way."
"Wait. I can't do this; she's my wife, I can't see her... I.. I can't do this. Sorry."
"Mr. Ellis, wait.."
But before agent Thompson could finish his sentence Mr. Ellis was on the elevator and on his wait up to the main floor.
Agent Thompson took the next elevator up to find Mr. Ellis. There was just one thing.. He wouldn't find him. "There's no way he already got out of the hospital" thought agent Thompson. "Damn, I forgot to lock the doors to the morgue. I don't want anyone getting in there." Agent Thompson headed down to the morgue to close it up for the night.
When agent Thompson got down stairs he had a bad feeling in his gut. Even though he was 6'3 with giant biceps and could bench press 425 pounds. He got nervous really fast. He knew that there was going to be trouble so he got his gun out of its holster. It was a possibility that it was going to be the murderer. Agent Thompson slowly opened the big doors with one hand while holding his pistol with the other. "Who are you? Mister... Mr. Ellis? What are you doing in here? I thought you left."
"Hello, I was going to leave but I decided to come and see her. Is that okay?"
"Yeah, it's fine."
Agent Thompson put his gun back in it's holster. He found it very suspicious that Mr. Ellis came back. He came back when Thompson was gone, as if he was planning on doing something. He was leaning over her body as if he was looking for something. Thompson just thought he was getting a necklace off her.
Later that night agent Thompson was doing his research on the Sredrum Mystery when he looked up and saw what he swore was Mrs. Ellis. That was impossible though, she was dead. It was a possibility that it was her ghost. Agent Thompson believed in ghosts almost as much as he believed in aliens. Why would Mrs. Ellis be here? Ghosts only don't move on when they have unfinished business. Maybe she was trying to tell agent Thompson something; it would be who the murderer is.
Agent Thompson ran outside to where he saw Mrs. Ellis. There was a shadow that swiftly moved down the alleyway. "Hey! Who are you!" Agent Thompson ran after the shadow hoping to catch it. "Don't follow me. I'm supposed to be dead, but I'm not. You'll figure that out though, you're a very smart man agent Thompson."
"What?! Where? What? Where was I? What happened?" Thompson woke up in his bed with documents opened and spilled out in his bed. "Was that actually Mrs. Ellis? Or just a dream?" Thompson couldn't figure out if it was real or not. He stayed up the whole night debating to himself if he actually saw a dead girl running around and talking to him.
"She's.... Not dead. She's alive, but that can't be. I saw her body, she was lying there wearing her clothes, her jewelry and she looked exactly the same as she did alive. Who would do this? Someone really wanted her dead... Or look like she was dead." Agent Thompson knew now, he knew that Mrs. Ellis wanted her mystery to be solved. She wanted agent Thompson to figure out who "killed" her. Why couldn't she just tell agent Thompson herself? Maybe she was too scared to stay out in public for too long. Her killer is still roaming free. Agent Thompson needed to solve this mystery and save Mrs. Ellis.
