~A/N: I LOVE WHEN YOU GUYS COMMENT OH MY GOD I LAUGH AND I CRY AND IT'S SO COOL THANK YOU
Also, I'm pretty sure this will disappoint you~

My phone buzzed. I pulled my eyes from the chemistry textbook and looked at the lit up screen. Sean (or 'Shithead💩') wrote me something.

I sighed and tapped in my password, opening the message app.

'SHE FUCKING DUMPED ME CAN YOU BELIEVE IT OH MY GOD please help' is what the message said.

I sighed again and looked out the window, resting my chin on my hand. This is definitely not the first time I've gotten a text like that from Sean. If i think about it, the first one came in around the end of our 7th grade. And, unsurprisingly, the message had a very similar sentence in it. I guess, Sean hasn't grown a bit, huh? He's such a kid.

I tapped in his number and held the phone to my ear. He picked up almost instantly:

"Hey," sob,"what's up?"

I pulled a few feet away from the speaker so Sean wouldn't hear my snorting.

"Hey there, crybaby." I said with a smile. "You're not doing that well, huh?"

"Mm-mhh," Sean answered, still sobbing. Lemme guess, ice cream? Wow. Here's someone, who can relate to 'justgirlythings'.

"Oh god, the full package," I sighed. "So, how'd she dump you? Over text?"

"Y-yeah..."

Wow, I'm getting good with these. But, really, it's not that hard. Sean's too simple. And I mean that not in a bad way. He's like an adult, but at the same time a pure, wholehearted child. A weird blend, really.

"You wanna talk?" I asked, already knowing the answer. "Meet me near the statue in the park. The one in the middle."

I heard a muffled "uh-huh" and Sean hung up. God, what a wreck. He's like a puppy, that's able to humanly render emotions. It's so cool, though, I love observing his love life.

Okaaay, chemistry, sorry fam, gotta go. I looked out the window. The thermometer showed 10 degrees. The fall just started, what the hell? Well, not that cold, if you have the right clothes. I could probably do in a sweater... Nah, fuck it. I put my coat on, sent an air kiss to the textbook and locked the door behind me.

Sean was sitting on the bench like in the movies - head down, elbows on his knees, hands clasped. His dark grey coat, which sometimes reminded me of the Third Reich, was spread behind him on the bench. His green hair was the only thing not harmonic in this picture.

"Hey, loverboy." I said, walking up to him. Sean raised his head and looked me in the eyes. His face was slightly swollen and the redness of his nose reminded me of Santa. I smiled and sat down beside him.

"How you doin'? Let's go for a walk."

I took him by the arm and gently led out of the park.

"-and you know, she was so fucking awesome when we danced to stupid songs, holding hands, and I'll really miss that." Sean blabbered, gesturing wildly.

It started to drizzle and his glasses were constantly fogging up. I watched him and listened carefully. He really loved her. Will I, a friend, ever help him enough and replace her well? I seriously doubt it.

I noticed a bridge in the distance.

"Hey, Sean, let's go there!" I exclaimed, picking up the pace and pulling him forward.

The bridge wasn't being used for a while now, so I knew no one would stop us. I looked over the railing onto the platform below. Hm... I guess it's enough, we'll fit there. I turned to Sean.

"So here's the plan," I pulled my legs over the railing and placed myself on the other side. "We'll get down there and stay there for a little bit. Good with that?"

Sean nodded and helped me onto the ladder down.

When we got to the platform (which took a long time, since Sean is afraid of heights, so I had to reassure him every few seconds), Sean firmly grasped my hand with one of his and held onto the ladder with the other.

"This is not fucking safe, it's not, we're gonna fall-" Sean mumbled and sqeezed my hand even tighter.

"Ow, ow, OW, Sean, not so hard," I hissed, gently stepping further onto the platform.

Finally, we sat ourselves down. The sun was setting. It colored the clouds shades of pink and purple. The town was quiet, only the rare whirrs and honks of cars reached my ears. The air was filled with the sound of running water - the river below us.

Sean still didn't let go of my hand. Poor dude.

"So... yeah, let's talk about her. And how to get OVER her." I started.

Sean listened for hours to my voice, absorbing every bit of information, psychology factoids and dissection of their characters.

The sun almost set. The city started to light up. And I finally fell silent.

"This is so weird, since this all just happened." Sean said, when I stopped talking. "I mean, I understand all you're sayin' so much it's uncomfortable."

He exhaled a puff of vapor.

"But, I mean, thank you for this. You're an amazing friend. You were patient with me for forever, it seems. I really love you."

I nodded with a smile to everything he said, but my jaw dropped at his last words. I looked Sean in the eyes and saw the usual spark there instead of tears.

"So let me ask you..." He leaned in, not breaking eye contact. "May I, as a sign of our lifelong friendship, kiss you?"

I looked for the sign of a joke in his eyes. There... was none.

"You may."
