MAYA HART SAW her world as a dungeon of despair, with a little mix of sorrow, and a pint size of lost. She had lost so much when Zay, who she had thought was her friend, shot her. She had also lost hope in him when she found out he had killed Riley.

Maya had lost Lucas, when she said her last words to him thinking she was about to die. She had lost her best friend Farkle, who had only hoped to find Riley's killer, not finding out his best friend was going to die.

But Maya didn't die, she was alive, but her body wasn't. She wasn't like angel, she didn't have the white beautiful wings or the halo on top. She was like a guardian, watching over her friends and family.

But today she didn't feel like going into the outdoors of New York City seeing what her friends were doing. She was instead seated in her room where here eyes wandered over the artworks she had never finished.

"Hey Maya." Riley walked into Maya's room, wearing the same outfit she had worn when she had died. The good part Maya could find in this situation was reuniting with her dead best friend.

"Hey Riles." Maya replied, her eyes again wandering over her artwork.

"You know, I sometimes wonder what could've been. I mean what if I had saved myself. You know?" Riley looked at Maya with a regretful look on her face, before shaking her head. "Whatever, it doesn't matter anymore."

"Riley it's not your fault, it never was." Maya placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, giving it a slight squeeze. "Don't ever think that."

Riley nodded, deciding that Maya was right. She then also decided to look at Maya's artwork. Her eyes then caught a certain artwork. "You kept that one?" Riley gestured at the painting of a door.

"Yeah, I did." Maya followed Riley's gaze to see the painting she did once sitting in Riley's bay window. It was in seventh grade, and at that time Maya had wondered if her feelings for Lucas were a mistake or fate.

"What's behind that door?"

"Lucas." Maya looked at Riley with her ocean eyes watering. Riley wrapped her arm around Maya, with Maya's head resting on her shoulder, just like how it used to be.
