Maya was seated at the bay window with Riley after spending some time with Lucas. She looked at the empty room that was full of dust. She wondered how hard it was for the Matthews to have to look at this room everyday knowing that their only daughter would forever be gone. Maya looked at Riley who was concentrated on her nails. Riley still wore the same outfit as always, but then she noticed a light blood stain near her stomach.

Maya couldn't help herself but ask, "Riles, how did you die?" Riley stopped picking at her nails and looked at her best friend with her eyes hollow when remembering that night. She shut her eyes, trying her best not to think of the horrifying pain she endured.

"It's okay Maya," She opened her eyes looking at her, "I'm fine." Riley smiled faintly and looked away from Maya's gaze. But Maya knew better, and her best friend was not fine.

She took her hand and gave it a light squeeze, "You know you can tell me anything?" Riley looked back at Maya and her brown eyes turned glossy. Truth is, Riley hasn't really been the same since that night. But she sighed, she knew she had to talk to someone. And Maya was her best friend, she was her extraordinary relationship.

"It was 10:30 at night, I gotten a text saying to meet them behind an abandoned building..."

A very scared and curious Riley walked the empty streets of New York. She was dressed in some random old jeans and a T-shirt. She certainly didn't feel the need to look good, in this situation fashion was the least of her worries. Her heartbeat was pounding rapidly. Her hands started fidgeting as she looked at the black night sky. Riley dug her phone out of her pocket and looked at the time.

"10:35." Riley sighed, she turned the corner to an abandoned building. She looked around and felt chills down her spine. The whole building looked like it could collapse at any second. Riley walked to the back of the building, the light snow crunching under her feet.

Riley waited silently, "Wait in the back. Don't bring anyone, or else they won't have a back." Riley said out loud, reciting the text she had received. The wind blew in front of her face and she shivered in the moonlight.

"Hello, Riley."

A searing pain ran through her body as she fell on the gravel floor. Riley cried out in pain as she looked up to see her attacker. She instead found six figures in front of her. "W-w-who are you?!" Riley crawled back, her mind suddenly going into panic mode.

"Your worst nightmare."

"Maya I tried! I tried to stay alive!" Riley said, as tears spilled down her face. "But...but..." Maya stood up and wrapped her small arms around Riley's fragile body.

Maya held her best friend close to her, "It's okay Riley. It's okay." Maya whispered, and she knew it would be. Riley cried, the emotional pain she had felt that night coming back to her.

"It's my fault, isn't it?" Riley looked at Maya with her tear stained eyes. Maya opened her mouth, trying to get the words out. She tried to think
of a response, anything. But only the silence loomed around the two.

"I'm sorry, Maya. I'm sorry for leaving you."

Maya smiled through her tears, "You didn't leave me Riley. You will always be my sister, no matter what." Through all the tears, the pain, the emptiness, Riley found herself smiling. A real smile.
