I packed the last bag into my jeep and walked back inside to see Tyler pulling a white t-shirt over his sun kissed chest. the weather in Dallas was still pretty warm so we decided to get some
of our friends together and hit the lake before the cold ruined it. I could hear Tyler in my mind laughing at that. he swore I didn't know cold and that he would have to take me home so I could really experience it.

the thirty minute drive was fun, but he always made drives fun. I plugged my phone up to the speakers and sang to him while he drove with one hand and kept his other on my thigh. I always kind of knew but the longer we were together the more I noticed how his love language was clearly physical touch.

we reached the lake about the same time as Jason and Jamie were getting the boat into the water. I walked over to Taylor and threw my arms around her neck to embrace her.

"have you met Riley?" I asked.

she shook her head no so I drug her over to where Riley was sitting on Jason's tailgate.

"Riley, this is Benn's girlfriend Taylor. Taylor this is Riley Spezza."

they waved and we all talked while the boys got everything on the boat, then pair of heavily tattooed arms wrapped around my waist and he pressed his lips to my cheek before resting his chin on my shoulder.

"ew get a room," Taylor chuckled as she herself began to kiss Jamie.

"don't tell us what to do!" Tyler exclaimed, grabbing my face in his hands and planting a kiss on my lips.

after we all shared some laughs it was decided it was time to get on the boat and head out to this spot the boys knew of. the boat ride wasn't long. Jason drove while the rest of us sat in front sipping our drinks and talking about how happy we were the boys won their game the night before and if we were going to make it to playoffs.

Tyler had a hell of a game and I couldn't be more proud of him. it was the first night I had been there as his girlfriend. I sat on the glass during warmups like a few other girls, wore his jersey, and played the girlfriend. he liked it and I didn't mind it either. he was right, I knew how to be one I just had to have the opportunity.

once we reached the spot, the boys all decided to fish while the girls laid out on the boat. a speaker played some music to drown out their fishing talk.

"so Harley," Riley spoke up, "we still haven't been told exactly how you and Tyler met!"

I looked down at my phone then back at the group. "well I started working for the stars," just like we practiced, "and I had a meeting with some of the office and as I was walking back to my desk Tyler ran into me. everything kinda happened from there on."

"we were all surprised," Jamie mentioned, "well I was at least. I could've sworn you and Rouss had a thing."

Tyler cut his eyes at Jamie then at me knowing I did have a thing for him at first. He's the only one on the team who knew the truth. I drunkenly told him at a party leading to a heavy make out session that Tyler walked in on. We'd gotten into a really big fight and sometimes I think he's still not over it even though we technically weren't dating at the time.

"well I didn't," I lied, "it's always been Tyler for me."

The rest of the girls gushed at that but I could tell Tyler was upset. He retreated from most of the conversation for the rest of the day and had little to do with me without being suspicious.
