"you're dating Tyler seguin and you didn't think to tell me?" Christiana squealed through the phone.

"I know. I know. I'm sorry. I haven't really told anyone but my family. it's all kinda new," I lied. "we're still getting used to being in a committed relationship." I lied again. I never lied to her. it made me feel dirty to not include my best friend on this.

she rambled on about meeting him and other things. I couldnt keep my head in conversation no matter how hard I tried. he was coming home today and we hadn't spoken since I left his house that morning.

"what's he like?" she asked being the huge hockey fan she was.

I bit my lip back and smiled thinking about the man Tyler is. "he's funny. always knows how to
make me smile. he's a total gentlemen," I kept going on but Christiana wasn't paying any attention to me but what was behind me.

before I could look back a pair of tattooed arms snuck around my waist and his lips planted themselves to my neck

"I missed you," he whispered into my ear before meeting my gaze.

"well hello there," I giggled.

he pulled the chair out next to me and sat down at the table.

"hi I'm Tyler it's nice to meet you," Tyler smiled at Christina through the computer screen.

"its so nice to meet you! Harley has told me so much about you," she said sarcastically before going into a conversation about wedding planning.

Tyler reached down to place his hand on my knee, gently pushing my dress up to mid thigh. He wrapped his hand around my bare leg, covering it in goosebumps," I love knowing I do that to you," he whispered in my ear.

I opened my mouth to respond but her eyes narrowed at us.

"so tell me more about you, Tyler."

as he began to tell her things I focused in on the sound of him. the feeling of him being here. he's been gone for a few weeks and despite the way we left things I missed him dearly.

I felt his hand start to slip higher up on my thigh. my hands flew down to his to keep it in place causing him to laugh.

Christina and Tyler continued their conversation, and I mostly drowned it all out. until Tyler said something I really wish he hadn't

"I'm definitely falling in love with her," he added.

I offered a weak smile at Christina, her face told me everything I needed to know. She knew my situation and knew that those words were the ultimate turn off for me.

We talked for another thirty minutes before she had to go meet Hudson. I got up and changed clothes so Tyler and I could head out to lunch. He acted like he hadn't even said the word. My phone buzzed and I looked down to see a text from Christina warning me about this one. She wasn't totally wrong. I knew that feelings were developing. he said it himself in Georgia. I was denying it at this point but couldn't forever. I couldn't do that to him.

"earth to Harley," he waved his hand in front of my face.

"Sorry what'd you say?"

He held up his keys, "are you ready to go eat?"

I nodded and followed him out to the car. We spent the rest of the day eating lunch and running some errands he had to do since it was his first day back in town. Once we finished he dropped me back at home. We made plans to hang out by the pool tomorrow and then he left. No goodbye kiss, no begging me to stay the night. He just left.
