You sitting on a bench at a park that is nearby your house. The sun had just set, and it is still the middle of winter, and it is a bit chilly outside. You were out here because Jack had called earlier, asking you to meet him and Mark here. He sounded upset about something, so you quickly grabbed your jacket and headed out the door, shooting your mom a quick response of seeing the guys on your way out.
It's only been a few minutes since you've been sitting there when you see the two of them walking towards you, their heads hung low, their shoulders sagging. Dread starts to fill you, you jump off of the bench and race over to meet them halfway. "What's wrong? What happened?" you look between the two of them.
"Lass, there's.....there's something we hafta tell ya." Jack remarks, still not looking at you.
"What is it then?" you ask, a little more hesitantly.
"(y/n), you remember that my mom has been waiting to get a promotion at her job so that she could also get a raise?" Mark asks, hiding his eyes behind his bangs.
"Yeah, and?"
"She got the promotion..." he starts, then stops.
"Well that's great! But why are you so upset?"
"Because, we hafta move (y/n)." Jack finally drops the bomb.
You felt as if your world is now crumbling all around you. "How far?" your voice is a mere whisper.
"It's about a 2 hours from here." Mark mumbles, stuffing his hands further into his pockets.
You couldn't imagine your life without the two of them being around. Tears start to fall down your face. " This can't be happening." you mutter.
Two pairs of arms wrap around you, pulling you closer to two warm bodies, though your starting to feel cold inside. "Please don't be like this (y/n). It's not like we're moving to the other side of the world! We can still text and call, and we can visit once in a while." Mark tries to reassure you.
As the world around you settles into darkness, and all you can hear is the breaths of your group, you thought that you were going to cry some more, when Mark started to sing.
I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me ("cause we're boss like that" Jack playfully murmurs.)
I'm only one call awayCall me, baby, if you need a friend
I just wanna give you love
Come on, come on, come on
Reaching out to you, so take a chanceNo matter where you go
You know you're not aloneAt the next part, Jack adds in his voice.
I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call awayYou could tell that Mark is now trying to remember the next line, so Jack starts to sing the next part, and Mark follows into the chorus. All the while, the two boys were swaying back an forth, rocking you comfortingly.
Come along with me and don't be scared
I just wanna set you free
Come on, come on, come on
You and me can make it anywhere
For now, we can stay here for a while, ay
'Cause you know, I just wanna see you smileNo matter where you go
You know you're not aloneI'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call awayAnd when you're weak I'll be strong
I'm gonna keep holding on (at this, they both squeezed you tightly, reassuringly)
Now don't you worry, it won't be long, Darling
And when you feel like hope is gone
Just run into my armsI'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one, I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call awayI'm only one call away.
As the last note died away, you snuggle closer into their hold, because you knew without a doubt that they were always going to be there for you. No matter how far away they were going to be, they will always be in your life.
*ANOTHER TIMESKIP*
It's been a week since the boys had moved. You are now sitting in your room. Even though the three of you had been texting each other constantly, you couldn't help feeling more and more saddened by their departure. Your mom is gone to work again, and you were starring at your laptop, not really paying attention to the homework problems.
You glance down at your phone again, and finally picked it up and hit speed dial. Instantly, a familiar Irish accented voice lets you know that you were on speakerphone, and a deep, friendly voice asks you excitedly how you've been doing.
"Well," you start to say, twirling a piece of hair on your finger, "I was getting kinda of sad not being able to see you guys. Then I remembered that you guys were only one call away."
