Chapter Twenty-Eight

JC's POV

"You need some rest, man. Go home, we'll call you when we hear something." Connor rested a hand on my shoulder. I shook it off, before Connor sighed. I needed to be here for Maddie Jane. She'd do the same for me.

She had been unconscious for almost three days. I've been here three days. And if she's staying unconscious, I'm staying right beside her.

This was already the forth time I was with Maddie Jane in the hospital. The first time was when we were I was eleven and she was eight.

"Who's first at the playground wins!" Mad shouted. She jumped on her skateboard and took off. I laughed and did the same.

"I'm gonna beat ya!" She screamed and looked behind her. I smiled, but saw a little rock in front of her, but the rock was big enough to let her fall.

"Mad! Watch ou-" It was too late. Her skateboard made contact with the rock, what send Mad flying. She landed with a 'thud' sound on her arm and then hit the ground with her head. I laughed at the sight of this. It looked so funny.

I stopped with skateboarding and headed over to Maddie. My laugh stopped when I saw blood trickling down her nose and coming out of her arm. She was crying too. I helped her up and went home.

I went to the hospital with her. She was really nervous, I could tell. The doctor said nothing was wrong with her nose, but her arm was broken. I pouted. That means no more skateboarding for a while.

Maddiegot a big pink thing on her arm. I chuckled. Maddie hated the colour pink.

When we got home Maddierushed to her room, and I followed quickly, just before her mother yelled something.

"Watch out Maddie Jane! We don't want a broken leg!" I let out a chuckle and followed Maddie.

I entered Mad's white room. She sat at her desk and looked around. "Whatcha looking for?" She turned around hold a black marker in her hand. She handed me the marker and extanded her arm. I chuckled and wrote something.

'Hope you get better soon. I need a skate buddy!' I smiled and wanted to give the marker back. She shook her head and gestured me to draw something.

"You know I hate pink." I laughed and drew on her bandage untill you could only see little of the pink.

I chuckled at the memory. Maddie was such a clunse. I looked down at her. I wish she was here for that reason, and not this one. I wiped some tears away that were escaping my eyes.

The second time was when I was eighteen and she was sixteen.

"Why the hell are you wearing a sweather? It's freaking summer!" I told Maddie. She just shrugged and sat down next to me. She was eying my bag of Cheetos.

"Want some?" I asked. She stared at it for a while, but then slowly shook her head no. " Your loss." I said and shrugged. She let out a light chuckle.

I went to the kitchen to get more food, but when I came back Maddie was on the floor. I gasped and ran over to her. I tried everything, but she didn't wake up. So, I called the ambulance.

Maddie layed on a hospital bed with her eyes closed. The doctor came in earlier. They said she had starve herself. She was too weak and passed out.

It's been three hours, and I saw that Maddie opened her eyes. Her eyes met mine and she looked down.

"You know why you're here? You passed out, because you had not enough food in your body. You STARVED yourself, what the hell Diana?"

She looked down and said nothing. "Please promise me you will never do that again. I don't want to lose you." She looked up. Her eyes were filled with tears.

"I promise."

I sighed. She promised me. And now, we're here again.

The third time was when those stupid fans attacked her. I still can't believe they did that to her. You have to be sick if you'd do to someone.

And now, we're here for the forth time.

I hope this will be the last time.
