You don't have to feel that way

When we arrived, I could feel the anxiety building up in my stomach. What if the judges didn't like me or my singing or my song? I'll be humalitated in front of millions of people. I, for one thing, know that I can't take that.

"Mom?"

"Yes honey," my mom answered me. She was truly my biggest fan and she helped me through everything, and that's why I wanted her to come down to Cali with me.

"Take me back please."  I was very serious, but I didn't think my mom would  take me serious.

"Oh, darling, we didn't drive this whole way for nothing. You'll do amazing, I'm sure, so get yourself some confidence and get out of the care because we are finally at our destination." She chuckled and turned the engine off.

Now it was time to get myself some confidence and get out of the car, just like my mom said. But saying was not as easy as doing, because the moment I stepped out of the car, I tripped on a stone and fell face first on the ground.

"Alessia? Are you okay?" I heard my mom ask with a caring tone. She knew I was nervous and when I get nervous I tend to do stupid things and get all clumsy.

"I'm okay!" I said and got up. My whole hand was kind of bleeding, but I could barely feel it, thanks to the adrenaline pumping through my blood. 

When I turned around to take my bag out of the car, I saw my mom looking at me with a look that said how did my daughter get so clumsy. I showed her a tiny smile and reached back in the car to take out my backpack.

"I really hope I nail this," I told my mom, kind of regretting my decision. 

"You'll do great, I'm sure," my mom said to me with a confident smile on her face. 

Well, I hope so mom.

It was a short walk from the parking lot to the entrance of the studio the talent show was taking place in. It was a big building, with another building behind it. I was taking in the madness that was going on inside, while we were walking to the front desk. There were people walking around with big boxes and more necessities for the show which was taking place tonight. There were also people sitting on benches, which I guessed were people just like me, showing their talent. I had actually auditioned online, and after 3 weeks I got to hear that I was welcome for the live shows in Cali. That means that they must have liked me. Or they needed a bad act, so people could have something to laugh about. 

While I was thinking about the auditions, my mom had walked up to the front desk and was having a conversation with the lady behind it. I walked up to them to hear what they were talking about. 

Actaully, it's kind of funny how I came here. You see, I have a Youtube channel where I post a lot of videos of me singing. It contains videos of me singing covers, but also a couple originals. I always record them in my walk in closet, so my dad could still hear the tv since my room was next to the living room and the walls weren't that thick. I got more and more views, but nobody contacted me from the music industry, which was disappointing.  But I know that that isn't easy.

A subscriber commented under one of my posts that I should join a talent show, and that's when I really started thinking about it. Because sure, I have thought of it earlier but I didn't really had the guts to do it, so I didn't try. But this comment let me think and I thought why not try it?

My mom was already finishing up her talk with the lady, so I decided to not say anyting. 

"Okay, you and your daughter can take that door, and there will be a lot of people and a lot of chairs and just find yourselves a place to sit and someone will get you," she explained. We nodded our heads and thanked her before walking to the door and opening it, and hell that woman was right. There were a lot of people sitting on chairs and standing next to the chairs and there were camera's and people with microphones and people running around talking on a phone, who I guessed to be a part of the staff.
