Andria

I sat on my bed with my face burning. The same five sentences doing a spinning, playful dance in my head. It's not fair. How is it that I'm the only one that got suspended? Henry started it! But he won't get into trouble because he's cooler than me. Or maybe its because I beat the snot out of him.I was in fifth grade and already I knew that the world wasn't fair.

Example A: Right now I was sitting in my room punished for beating up some bully; because he thought it'd be cool to throw rocks at my sister because she was different from the other kids in the class. So I taught him the hard way not to hit girls. Well it just so happens that he was the principal's son, so that didn't end well for me. I am now suspended for a week. As I sat in my room stewing, my imaginary friend Perseus appeared." Just let it out." He whispered into my ear.

"But last time it burn down that tree." I said, knowing that if I let out the pulsing, pounding white noise in my skull than it would overtake me. Then i would lose myself and its use all my anger to achieve what it wanted. And that was chaos. And though the chaos freed me from all of my worry it was still highly dangerous. And that scared me; I still remember the first time it happened.

We were playing in the woods. Adrian was running in and out of the trees like a hummingbird. Perseus and I were suppose to catch her. Unlike everyone else Adrian could see Perseus as well. I was so busy with what I was doing that I didn't see the tree root until it was too late. I fell and all the air came out of my lungs leaving me breathless.

A sharp pain shot up my leg when I tried to stand. With a cry I fell back onto the hard ground. The forest that seemed so warm, bright, and glowing before now seemed dark and sinister. I knew that i was in a whole heap of trouble My vision got blurry and I passed out. When I woke up it was dark outside and Perseus was looking at me with concern in his eyes. The forest was dark and Adrian was nowhere in sight.'' We must go Andria.'' Perseus says in a hushed voice.

I hear a wolf howl nearby , which is strange because wolves aren't native to this area. The howls were the last thing I needed to hear right now. As I lay there in panic I hear the howls getting closer. Tears well in my eyes as i think that i'll never see my sister again. Then a voice that I don't recognize says one of the weirdest things' to Perseus.Perseus, open her powers to her. Their coming for her , and you know if she has to do it on her own that she will kill herself because shes not of age yet.''

''This is going to hurt, but only for a little bit.'' Perseus said apologetically as he placed his palm onto my chest.

I felt a burning in my chest and it kind of hurt. Soon it spread through my whole body and it went from a small burn to a all out fire. I screamed in agony and begged Perseus to stop. Tears streamed down his face as he continued to press onto my chest. I screamed louder and it mixed with the savage howls of the wolves.

Finally after what seemed like hours the burning simmered down to a throb and the throb turned into sweet numb bliss. I sat up and my eye was instantly pulled toward my leg. It was twisted at a weird angle. As I looked at it the foot twisted back into place with a pop. The howling had stopped but I knew that the wolves were still out there. I slowly stood up and flicked my hand out. A golden bow and leg quiver appeared and I know exactly what to do. Peering into the night I saw them.

Their huge bodies are covered with silver and black fur, built for running and I know that I won't be able to outrun them. So I only had one option left. Fight. I raised the bow and as the first wolf pounced toward my neck I shot it between its eyes. I took out most of the pack in the same manner. Strangely they crumbled into dust and flew away before they even hit the ground. The rest got the message and backed up. They spread out into a semi circle and I pressed my back onto a tree. I took a deep breathe and looked at my quiver. I had six arrows, one for each wolf .

Whatever was coursing through my veins now would never leave me. I could hear the promises of power and a rich and lavish life. I almost gave into its allure and let it take over. Then they attacked. With a swiftness and ferocity that I didnt know I possessed, I fought back.
